Consumer Reports surveys their readers' experiences with various cell providers and then publishes extensive reports. Have you read any of them?

They are correct about not being able to port a number out, if it's not active. However, they are in the wrong by cancelling your number, although you stated you wanted to port it. You can contact the FCC and BBB, however, it may not be much help. The FCC can't do anything. The BBB may be able to pull some strings, but then again, you're no longer a Sprint customer, either.
