Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I have been a client with Square One Debt Settlement for a year. My husband lost his job because of an accident at his work and we used our credit cards to supplement our missing income. We got into so much debt we were in way over our heads! So we decided to contact Square One Debt Settlement in hopes of trying to save some money and get out of debt.

We were sued by 5 of the companies we owed money to. After being disconnected when trying to call them for advice on what to do and being told they were working on it for months, we finally we brought to court and forced to pay with a court judgement.

When we tried to cancel our program we were told we could not be refunded for money that Square One said they were helping us 'save' and basically stole from us.

I would never recommend this company to anyone, go to another company if you are seeking help. Don't end up like we did... paying out even more money than we did in the first place with Square One's 'help'.

I read Scott's glowing reference of Square One, and I must admit, I was a little confused.  You see, I have a great deal of experience with this industry, from the inside out.  I understand the issues and lack of regulations that govern this truely disgusting industry.  Reading Scotts' well written, probably rehearsed, positive review, I could not help but consider the irony.  Why would any respectable lawyer, who claims to have so much experience and insight, ever stoop to being associated with the debt settlement industry, let alone this company.  Was he such a poor achieving lawyer that nobody paid him, or was he in fact, a lawyer at all?  It did not make sense, actually, it stunk, but after further review, now it makes sense.

After review the Illinois Bar website, its seems Scott lied on his credentials.  They have no record of him ever practicing law in their state.  Amazing how convincing a well worded reference can be, until one reviews the authenticity of the claims.  Not only was he not a lawyer, as his review stated, he never had been.  So what about all those trials, all that experience?  I would suggest the entire review dictated by Mr. Weiner was a fictional story created with the intention of generating more business for his company.

There are simply not enough words to describe the filthiness of this ENTIRE industry as a whole.  There are NO good debt settlement companies, like there are no good bank robbers, good drug dealers, good rapists, or good seria murderers.  The entire industry is predicated on encouraging the consumer to default on their credit cards, so that such creditors can renegotiate the terms.  Of course, you pay them to handle the extortion portion of service, dealing with the creditors, and all the while, they do nothing for you that you could not do for yourself.  Forget about BBB ratings, they are a crock.  Reviews are often written by the company, for themselves.  If you see a review from any debt settlement company, supposedly written by a happy customer, especially if they write specifics like, "They helped me save over 15K in credit card debt, thank you ABCDXYZ Debt Settlement Company", I guarantee it's totally fake.

In summary, do as you will, patronize who you want, but if this rebuttal is not enough to convince you, you are a deserving victim.

Hey everybody, Scott said he is staking his reputation on this.  Scott is a lawyer.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!  Ok dude, I'm with you.  If you say its good.  Sign me up.

Funniest post I've seen here.  Scott has a load of time on his hands with that book he wrote.  Scott is ok with it because his cohorts are making mad jack suing people who get behind.  Do your own research and decide for yourself.   Scotty boys a slick one, well thinks he is.  Here Scott, put this with your next War and Peace to get you some "business."

I am not an employee of Square One - I am an Affiliate of theirs.  I started a debt settlement company a year ago and had many to choose from to work the back end of my business.  I did a ton of research, and after talking to the President, David Prince and doing some investigation I felt they were the most honest company I had talked to by far.

Who am I?  Here is my public Linked-In Profile - http://www.linkedin.com/in/swmediations.

I have nothing to hide.  The relationship between an affiliate who provides the customers who are then serviced by a company like Square One is very very close.  If my customers are not happy I don't get paid and I get calls.  I can honestly tell you that my customers are delighted with Square One and I have had no complaints at all about their business practices.  In fact several customers have referred friends and written good reviews of Square One on the BBB site.

My personal experience with David Prince personally is that he values honesty and integrity over profits.  Every change he makes to the program is to the benefit of the consumer.  He has changed our fee structure so there is no upfront large payments - we take out our fees equally every month unlike most companies - he didn't have to do this but he did it because more people graduate the program.

I talk to him all of the time on the phone and he is obsessed with compliance - as he should be as a member of the board of TASC (The Association Of Settlement Companies -
You can check them out at http://www.tascsite.org/).   There has not been one occasion in our relationship where I felt that he was not being completely honest and forthright.  He is one of the most honest people I have met in my life.

I have had many other back-end companies such as Square One call me and try to get me to move away promising more money and the ability to do twice as many states (it's not legal to do more than about 25 right now, but many other companies do them anyway).   Square One only does states in which Debt Settlement is allowed - and they are VERY strict about it.  The companies that call me use attorneys in other states to do business there which is illegal.

I would rather stay with a company like Square One that has my customers best interest at heart than go with another company that waves money in my face.  My customers are contacted twice a month and their debts are settled in a very intelligent and prompt manner.

Who am I?

I am a Trial Attorney licensed in Illinois since 1992.  I have done 35 jury trials to verdict and hundreds of bench trials.  I am a Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator in both Civil and Family court.  And I am an American Arbitration Association Commercial Arbitrator.  Those of you

If you want to lose your money...deal with incompetent people and get sued join square one...to go to ground zero

The "self save" model the brilliant owner boasts about is code for-YOU SAVE YOUR OWN MONEY.

Well now if you could save your own money why do you pay them 15% of your total debt?

They will do nothing until you default on your cards (the banks will not settle until you do).

Your credit score will go down.

You will get sues and they will tell you to talk to the judge...right...you will get a judgement. Check the laws in your state.

They have great creative lines that will confuse those not in the industry.

ALL OF THEIR EMPLOYEES ARE FORNER BILL COLLECTORS!!!

But if you must give them your money.....

Afterwards you can call the owners brother adam his largest sales crony 561-866-5546 (or any scum bag at pinnacle one) or just call david "coke head" "disbarred attorney" prince on his iphone 305-332-5634 or 305-332-7818
