When I purchased a leather sofa I bought the $100 Satinsafe warranty that covers all stains or damage for 5 years. This includes stains, tears, hold etc... Well, I finally got a stain on the sofa and called to initiate a claim. First they sent me a little kit to clean it myself. I used the kit and all it did was take the finish of the rest of the leather. I reported that and then the claim was opened. To make a truly aggravating story short, Stainsafe has only once initiated contact with me. I have had to call them every month for almost a year now to get anything resolved. Everytime I call I get a different answer and a new runaround. Supposedly we are starting all over with a new evaluation this week because they "lost" the old tech report.

I do not believe them and have called the store I purchased the sofa from to inform them of my experience. Beware to all of you, DO NOT PURCHASE THE WARRANTY. The stupid kit they sent changed the leather so much that now I have about 20 stains and discolorations on what was a beautiful, expensive sofa.

I will update as this drags on but as of 3/3/02 nothing has been done by Stainsafe to fullfill their part of this contract. I am considering a lawsuit.
