I purchased a 7 year fruniture warranty with Stainsafe Inc. from Bay Furniture, when I purchased my sofa and loveseat. I have everything the Bay sales rep. gave us, which is the sales reciept for the furniture and the 7 year warranty, the Furniture warranty folder from Stainsafe and this was put into a Bay furniture Customer Assurance Policy, also a kit of cleaning products from Sainsafe. Stainsafe is saying we should have a registration number for the warranty, but Bay furniture didn't give us one.

I talked to the sales rep. from Bay( he's a personal aquaintence) and he said Bays proceedure was to enter that info. into their computer to retrieve for any claims. Bay is now out of business, so any other info. besides what we were personally given is impossible to retrieve. I even have the cleaning product supplied by Stainsafe, that they supplied.

There is enough evidence to prove we paid for the policy (i.e. the items mentioned above). The couch was accidntly cut on the front panel and I just want it to be fixed. I originally contacted Stainsafe the day after the damage occured and I was given a claim number#1352741. I was told the pictures of the damage and a copy of the sales reciept was all that was needed. I supplied them with that, and despite assurances I would get a letter with info. on when it would be fixed. 2 weeks went by and no contact.

I called again and was told they needed a ccpy of the warranty itself. I emaild a copy of the furniture warranty folder I was give( as that was all I had). SO now we seem to be at atn impasse. They want something I was never given. Even though I paid for the policy and have proof of such, they are refusing to do anything without the registration number.

I have been getting suggestions from the sales rep. from Bay, as he works for another local furniture store who also uses Stainsafe as a furniture warranty co. I just want my couch repaired. I want what I paid for and what Stainsafe said they would do.

We purchased our furniture through JCPenney and the Stainguard was automatically registered with the company.  We were provided with a copy of the proof of registration by JCPenney.  I am now filing for a refund for the purchase price of the product since we did not use it at all.  Apparently the e-mail given on the warranty is no good, since my e-mail was returned.  Will update on my progress.

I talked to the sales rep. from Bay about there being a registation number on the box of cleaning solutions. He said they were not put on the box but some stores may do that as Stainsafe works with many store chains. If there was a reistration number on the box I was never told about it. I have the solutions but not the box as all I could see were advetising about the cleaners on it. I saw nothing official like a reg. number, and certainly was not informed of any by anyone when we made the purchase.

The registration number is located on the outside of the box containing the cleaning chemicals that you said you have, along with specific instructions for activating your warranty, which includes registering online, by mail, or by phone WITHIN 7 DAYS OF PURCHASE. It sounds like you never activated your warranty. How is this anyone's fault but your own?
