Thank you all for speaking up! I filed a complaint here a while back and been trying to find a way to stop the A-1Leasing freud as well as the Start-up essentials. I closed the Bank account they had been taking the 170 bucks a month from per my banks advice. I am on disability and cannot afford a fancy lawyer. This whole scam will not stop me in prusueing my goals , however, I need help finding the People to talk to in Both Michigan and Texas. So, if anyone can help me, I will be forever grateful. Is there a Lawery Angel out there!

I received a letter today from A-1 leasing stating that I was three months behind. The contact person was Steve Miel, Phone 616.243.7463. This man is something else. He states that their company is not a scam. Yet, he has no compassion for thoses ripped off. He also stated that Ripoff Report and those filing claims against them are not telling the truth. When I told Steve that their are 20 complaints against them with the Michigan Attorney General's office, he stated that this was a lie, and I told him to call and find out for themselves. For the lawers out there, he stated that lawers are always filling lawsuites against them and they don't win. The bottom line is this, A-1 leasing is hurting and they are going to play hardball with us. For me, that is fine, I have done the same back. For those who are interested in getting justice in Ohio, Attorney Steven Potter, 440.544.1105 is willing reveiw all facts. He is a specialist in Contracts and Businesses. If he can't help, I will look for others.

I received 2 copies of a letter from A-1 today. Supposedly from the same person, Lorraine Mc something but the signatures on the 2 letters weren't even close. They said I'm past due and if I don't pay the monthly fee plus a late fee, they'll report me to my credit bureau. I've already filed a fraud alert with all three companies. I'm going to call them back and give them the history of A-1 and Startup Essentials. Any other ideas?

I googled Stuart Allan & Associates on google.com. It seems they have two locations. One is located at 2855 Mangume Road, Suite 409 in Houston, Tx 77092,and the other one is located in Tucson, Az at 5447 E. 5th Street, Suite 110. On the BBB site only the Tucson location came up. They are not a member of the BBB, but they have a file of having an unsatisfactory record in the BBB report. I do not know if they have any attorney's at their location, but they are listed as a collection agency. When I spoke to Mr. Taylor from the Houston office he tried to get me give him permission to record our conversation, and I told him that he did not have my permission to do so, and that I would have my attorney contact him. Hi Debra, The name of my harasser from Stuart Allan & Associates is Culverson Taylor, the phone number he called from was 866-668-6205. He said that he was trying to collect a debt for A-1 Leasing, I told him that I had already given my written reply to A-1 Leasing regarding the acer laptop and so had my attorney, and I didn't understand how is wasn't made aware of that fact by A-1 Leasing. I spoke with a Mr. David Grossman an attorney from Dallas. I was given his website by a Detective from the Dallas Police Department, who made me aware of a class action suit being filed. When I spoke to Mr. Grossman he said that the suit was just in the early stages. I told Mr. Grossman that I was very interested in being a part of that suit. I would also being willing to share information for Mr. Grossman and speak with you. You are right we must all band together against these scammers, so they cannot do any more harm to others and hopefully put an end to there kind of unethical business practices.

Hi! I've already filed a rip-off report about these monsters. I have been being harrassed by a Dave Johnson (supposed attorney) of Stuart Allan & Associates, Inc. at 5447 E. 5th Street, Suite 110, Tucson, Arizona 85711 (phone: 520-881-5900), who proclaims that A-1 Leasing intends to sue me for terminating my contract. Like all others who have dealt with this company, I was paying $139.99 per month for 6 months, and NEVER had my questions answered. The contract was changed without my knowledge or consent (when I originally signed with Start-Up Essentials, I was told I would be paying a total of $4,000 for a NEW computer (they sent a Frankestein piece of junk that quickly broke), would be helped in taking credit card sales, getting totally set up in business, would receive help in marketing, etc. I never received any of the promised services, even though I called 2-3 times per week. Mr. Johnson (above) seems to also be a scam artist. First, I received a call (well over a year after I stopped payment) from a mysterious 'private detective' who said I needed to call Dave Johnson. When I did, he told me I had to pay $12,078.93!!!!! When I asked for the contract, there was a page saying I owed this that did NOT itemize what all the costs were for, and did NOT have my signiature on it. In other words, they are just threatening to sue me for whatever they deem fit. Mr. Johnson also does NOT behave like an attorney; after I asked how A-1 could do this, he YELLED at me for 15 minutes, refusing to let me say a word. I have since received more threatening messages (none of which I've returned), saying that if I don't pay up, they will 'have to take things to the next step' (whatever that is). I spoke with a Michigan attorney today, a Mr. Greg McCoy (he was referred by the Michigan bar), and he told me that we are all protected under the Michigan Consumer Protection Act. This means that we have the right to sue A-1 Leasing, Bond Corporation, Start-Up Essentials and USA Card Services for attorney fees and statuatory damages, as well as being able to legally terminate our contracts. Mr. McCoy would love to hear from anyone who has any more info, as well. I am responding to this particular complaint because the complaintant says he has contacted a Dallas, Texas attorney about a class-action law suit. I would VERY MUCH LIKE TO KNOW the name of this attorney, and how to get involved. I would also like to hear from others who are interested in same -- though I would be happy just to take my losses if this Dave Johnson and A-1 Leasing would stop harrassing me, it looks like we may need a united front to stop these brazen scammers. So please, could you share with me the name of the Dallas attorney? Would YOU be willing to talk with me? I would be happy to share Mr. McCoy's information with you, if you wish, as he is willing. Thank you!!!!

Startup is out of business. I saw the remains. That email is part of the scam for them to stall and for the desperate to keep clinging onto some hope. The phone number is just an answering service. Your calls and emails will not be returned.......

I receved an Email from Startup Essentials 2 or 3 days ago stating that they are not closed, They have just moved to a new location. The email stated that it is a rumor that they have closed and are out of business. They also said in the email they are still offering customer support and are there for you. I sent them a NOT so nice email back to them ! So those scam artist are still in business ripping people off I hope they will be out of business soon.

This lawsuit that everyone wishfully comments on appears to have yet to be filed. Only one consumer, who seems to have devoted her whole life to it, is named , but nothing has been filed anywhere in Texas and there is no class action status. Startup Essentials, as noted in an earlier ex-exployee comment, is gone from the 4455 LBJ location and the remains are/were being auctioned off. Robert Harris still supposedly shows up there to talk to the building manager, but leaves no information. Texas Secretary of State records indidcate that Harris filed a Certificate of Formation for Bigfly Media, LLC on July 5, 2007, right around the time Startup closed up. The website is www.bigflymedia.com. It looks like the same opportunity but it does not say if there is a lease component. The new address For Bigfly is a Mail Boxes, Etc. around the corner from the old address: 13410 Preston Rd., "Suite" (Read Box) A-306 Dallas, TX 75240
