I got an appointment with a lawyer 4/10/2007 for legal advice about the 4 year contract with A-1 Leasing. The lawyer looked over the contract and said it is a legal binding contract. His advice was to ship back the laptop computer being that it is leased equipment and send a letter stating that im not going to pay them anymore money and state the reasons why. he said most likely i will get threating letters and phone calls for a while and after a few months i wouldnt hear anything from them again. He also said that they would file a bad credit report against me witch would hurt my credit score for a while, but no perminate dammage to my credit. He said the most they could do to me is file a lawsuit against me in the state of Texas, witch he said would cost them lots of money being that A-1 Leasing in the the state of Michigan. the lawyer told me that the laws in Michigan do not apply in the state of Texas and the lawsuit would have to be filed in Texas to take legal action against me. From what i have figured out, about the only way a class action lawsuit could be filed against these companys is to file one against Startup Essentials for deceptive business praticies.
