STARVING STUDENTS MOVING - A MOVING NIGHTMARE
Not only was some of my furniture destroyed beyond repair, but my television and VCR were stolen out of their storage facility. When they arrived at my new home with the damaged furniture, I immediately called their storage facility and explained that there were damages and missing items. I was told by this facility in order to file a claim I needed to sign the paperwork and to take pictures of all damages, then to call a number he gave me to receive a claim form.. They also told me at that time that there had been a break in at their storage facility and my TV and VCR were probably stolen in the break in. I did as I was told (paid their fees on the spot, was told I must do this again, in order to be able to file my claim). However, when I filed my claim along with pictures of damages, they are denying my damage, stating I signed the paperwork and would NOT have signed it if there were damages. I would NEVER have signed the paperwork, but I was told to by STARVING STUDENTS, that this was the way to file my claim..
These items include the 27" TV: $299.00 VCR: $179.00(which were stolen out of their warehouse) Jewelry Cabinet: $99.00 Display Cabinet: $50 Antq Magazine Rack: $40.00 (totally destroyed and a Damaged Antique Hutch: $75.00 Total replacement: $742.00, This claim does not include all the other scratches and dents. Almost every item I owned has a flaw now that it did not have prior to this moving and storage. After filing the claim, I have also found other items that are missing including my Sony Playstation ($150.00). I know it would be useless to claim as it does not show on my freight bill as being shipped.
Starving Students hassent a check in the amount of $150.00 (which I have NOT cashed) to cover all my damages..
