We relocated from San Francisco to New York City in February of 2018. I had a Lexus CT200H, which had 18 payments remaining on it. I went to SwapALease at the suggestion of a friend.

My service associate, Daniela Reynolds, was very solicitous and took me through the process of posting and then transferring my lease. At her suggestion, I purchased the $600 level of service which, ostensibly, put me towards the front of the queue for potential buyers.

After four weeks, AND SOME DUE DILIGENCE ON MY OWN, I recognized that my car was a couple hundred dollars higher than most of its competition. I went to Ms. Reynolds and suggested a financial incentive of $200 a month to lower the payment to a more competitive number.

A couple more weeks went by and still no offers. I went to Ms. Reynolds again and the only reply to my concerned email was, "I am still doing everything I can. I can’t force someone to take over your lease. We discussed your high monthly payment. I am doing the best that I can." I suggested a further lowering of the price by a $250 a month financial incentive.

And Ms. Reynolds NEVER mentioned at the outset of our conversations that my monthly payment was high. I discovered that WHOLLY on my own.

I received one inquiry. The only communication between Ms. Reynolds and myself at that point was to ask her if I should just deal with the possibly new lessor directly. Her reply was, "Yes, and let me know when you have initiated the transfer." No intermediary help. No suggestions as to how to close the deal.

Had I purchased one of the cheaper options which would have left things more or less completely up to me, I would be fine with the inability of the car to have the lease transferred, but the $600 fee seemed to imply that SwapALease would assist me in getting potential buyers and working with me to transfer the lease.

None of that happened. The fact that Ms. Reynolds had only "I can't force someone to take over your lease" to say leads me to believe that SwapALease is only interested in getting the fee but not providing the service.

I will NEVER recommend them to anyone looking for a service such as SwapALease.
