I paid off Target in 2007 in the amount of $210.00 to a collection agency even though it had already been charged off.  I have cancelled checks to prove it.  It was charged off in 2006.

In November  Target reported on my credit reports that it was just charged off in November, 2009 which means they added new derrogatory information to my credit report.  My FICO score dropped 70 points.  I wrote to them and I disputed it and they would not remove it.  I wrote a letter and they replied that the information was verified. They accused me of reading the credit report wrong.  I wrote back and sent them a report that I got from freeannualcreditreport.com and they sent me a letter stating that they would remove the entire record from all of the credit reporting agencies.  They also apologized profusely.

I received a notification from Creditkeepers that some derrogatory information had been placed on my credit report.  It was Target again. This time they are stating that I did not pay them at all and that the "charge off amount was the same amount as the past due amount."  This was reported this month and is being interpreted as a new charge off again.  I have written to them again and sent them a copy of their letter stating that they were removing the account.

I have not heard anything from Target yet.  I don't know what their problem is but they are in clear violation, especially since this reages the account because it is being reported as just being charged off and the fact that the debt had already been deleted and was placed back on my credit report.  This is screwing me up because credit reports are used for everything.  i have worked hard to clean up my credit but Target keeps putting this information on my report.

This is deserving of being ripped off.
