I've been working there for a short period of time but I never decided to do research on the company until I tried scouting a girl and she said she used to work there and it was a scam. I tried to argue with her about it, but in reality I didn't have any legitimate reason to back up my argument. I couldn't scout anyone afterwards until I did the research and BAM here I find all this out. I feel bad because the scouts who are actually thinking that they are helping people are really just apart of the whole process. I feel bad because I enrolled a few people, one girl is very good looking and she should get work anyway but that's not the point. The worst thing about this company is this. They tell you that you pay 795 dollars and 19.95 a month to update your pictures and your website. When each talent comes in they take 3 pictures of them. 2 head shots and one full body. A lot of them get really excited and begin to think that this is a legit place. But what they do is they use a terrible digital camera that takes disgusting photos so no matter how good you look, you will come out ugly in the picture. A lot of people ask to see them but we can't let them. We just tell them that they won't be put on the website and they are just evaluation photos. Now keep in mind that I was telling people this not being totally informed. Then the day came when one of my friends enrolled and she opened up her website for the first time and guess what pictures were on the site. That's only the half of it. Now she wasn't stressing the fact that the pictures were on there (although she thought that they weren't going to be on the site.) She didn't know where to go to get professional pictures done. So I told her that the talent coordinator would help her. She called and told me that she was meeting with a girl at my office that I never heard of. But she didn't care she just wanted the pictures done. Thankfully she was late cause I later found out that the 795 doesn't include the photos. To get photos through TCT it's an extra 400 to 500 bucks. So I told her not to get the pictures through them and I will help her get good pictures at a cheap price. I truly want to help people succeed in this industry whether it be modeling, acting, music, or even athletics. I still have goals of being an agent and owning my own company, but I don't want to be affiliated with this company. I apologize for all the people that I've basically unknowingly lied to, but if I happen to see anyone that I've previously scouted before I will personally talk to them and tell them the truth of what TCT does whether they agree with it or not. So if you enroll with the company and you don't have pictures, you're not paying 795, but about $1300!!!! Don't forget about the Talent Search in the Summer which is basically the same as fashion rock. That cost another 900 bucks and sadly this girl scheduled herself for it. And basically the last straw was their name change to Wilhemina. Only a company that has something to hide would change their name that frequently. Not even a year!!! There's a lot more to this company that I have realized but I don't want to write all down right now. I'll be back though. That's the story of TCT.....or I mean Options.....oh sorry I mean Wilhemina....who knows what they'll call themselves by next fall.

Looks like Dan is another disenfranchised owner of a TCT office. It's funny how he made comments to the young lady looking for real representation. Look to spend $795.00 to have your picture on a website with a $19.00 a month maintenance fee is total baloney! Hell for that price you can build your own website dedicated to just you. And then e-mail the link to agents. I've also seen some of the music artists.. And most have no sound or no music on the site. And the ones that do sound awful! I mean so bad that they would have been booed of American Idol, Star Search and any other talent show. By the way bud.. If you want to rebute this.. Be advised I am in the music biz and review talent all the time. You guys send out scouts with a quota. If they don't meet the quota they don't get paid.. Tell me this Mr. TCT is legitimate man.. Lou Perlman is not a part of TCT and has no hand in any of it's workings other than the sold use of his name. Which if anybody asks isn't all that squeeky clean. And has been sued several times by artists he's represented. Name one of your TCT discovered artists that are on the charts (NONE). Nice try bud defending a company that has to change names like the homeboy shopping network to continue business. I suppose the lawsuit by the Florida Attorney general means nothing to you right? You can run, you can hide.. you can even change your name.. But a rip-off by anyother name is still a rip-off! You should either produce your own shows or get out of the business. You make us all look bad!

It sounds to me like you have no idea what you are talking about. Did you think that you would go in and become a supermodel overnight? Did you think that you wouldn't have to pay any money to get started? Let me ask you something, can you name one famous person (model, actor or musician) that came out of John Robert Powers? Didn't think so. Now you said you went in because you saw a tv ad. This business is very picky. The clients want specific features of their models. If you weren't scouted by someone, then who's to say you meet those requirements? Models have to be a certain height, certain dress/jacket size, certain hip/bust/waist size, etc. It sounds like you haven't told us the whole story. What did they tell you? Do you meet these requirements? Now just because we have changed our name means nothing. Many companies change their name. In fact, as of today (4/1/03), we are now Wilhelmina Scouting Network. If you don't know, it's a division of Wilhelmina Modeling, one of the top modeling agencies. If we were a scam, would they associate with us? Look, the only thing we guarantee is exposure, what does John Robert Powers guarantee? If they told you they will get you work, then you really did get ripped off. The only way they can say that is if they hire you themselves. I don't think you got ripped-off. You never paid anything. Sounds like you're just bitter and not happy with what they had to tell you at your interview.
