Ripoff Report Verified™ REVIEW

EDitor's UPDATE: Positive rating and recognition has been given to The Addictions Academy for its full commitment to quality customer service.

Ripoff Report's discussions with The Addictions Academy have uncovered an ongoing dedication by the company to total client satisfaction. This means that clients can expect that the company will work towards finding a mutually satisfactory resolution to any concerns. The Addictions Academy listens carefully to client concerns and sees them as an opportunity to learn from past mistakes and become more efficient as a company in the services offered and the support for those services.

The Addictions Academy, Founder, Cali Estes has informed us that her personal philosophy is that all students are treated with respect and understanding. As a successful company owner, Cali Estes feels it is imperative that all students understand how to work with clients in a respectful, timely fashion. The Faculty at The Addictions Academy are some of the top and peak in their field and are excited and happy to be training others to do the work in the field. Katie Donovan Brennan, (featured in USA TODAY) teaches Family Addiction Coaches at The Academy and she had this to say "Up until now the best we could do was recommend to the family to go to Alanon, or go to family day at the treatment center. The courses answer common questions and bust misconceptions of what the family needs to know."

The Addictions Academy has been the forerunner in establishing protocol, new classes, new material and of course new certifications where there have been very little guidance or qualification procedures. Dr. Estes strives to offer the highest quality education for all new students and she is a pioneer in the field of addiction coaching, Intervention, Recovery Coaching, Family Addiction Coaching and more. Dr. Estes has teamed up with Boris Schaak , a celebrity bodyguard and fitness guru to the stars to offer Fitness in Recovery Coaching training and more to help students offer the best possible education and services to their personal clients.

The Addictions Academy and Dr. Estes should be praised for their hard work and dedication in the field of addiction and standing strong on their ethical boundaries in an industry that is ridden with deception and uncertainty.

The information provided in this report below is based on comments made by Dr. Cali Estes during an onsite inspection held by a third-party verification company with no biases towards The Addictions Academy.

The Addictions Academy is a leading international provider of certifications, training, and addiction courses. They offer the educational tools and marketing contacts to ensure that students in their program succeed within the addiction industry. Dr. Cali Estes stated the following about her company, "we are one of the pioneers in what we do. We’re the largest online virtual classroom for addiction studies. We offer 40 classes, we’re in 22 countries, and we have 20 plus teachers all over the country. Our students hop online, they can see the instructor, they can see the students and it is like being in a live classroom."

Leads for The Addictions Academy are primarily obtained through online marketing, word of mouth, and reaching out to treatment centers whos methods are violating state law. Dr. Estes further explained, "we come in and teach them how to market ethically. We teach their students ethics, we teach their business teams how to actually convert leads to clients correctly and ethically. We teach them how to block an AMA". Individuals interested in The Addictions Academy are typically new to the addiction industry. They can reach out via phone or online to learn how to gain individual clients, open a treatment center, and explore the many classes and additional certifications they have to offer.

CUSTOMER CARE & COMPLAINT RESOLUTION – THE ADDICTIONS ACADEMY

During the on-site interview, Dr. Estes was asked to describe a situation where a client was not satisfied with the level of service they received. Dr. Estes expressed the following, "in five years we have only given three refunds. The person didn’t like the course, we gave them a refund. We had a person who’s husband called and stated she spent money when she couldn’t spend money. They panicked so we gave them a refund. We’ve always given refunds. We’ve never had an unhappy student."

When asked to comment on complaints posted on Ripoff Report's website Dr. Estes explained that the comments were all false and created by a competitor, "we had one [complaint] in January 2016 from a competitor that wanted to meld with us, take over our classes, and we said no because he had a long criminal history. When we did that, he posted on Ripoff Report, a negative report that he could not get a job with our degree. We don’t sell degrees. We don’t sell diplomas, we never have." In order to offer the best in both education and marketing The Addictions Academy are accredited by the AACT Learning Institution, state board certified and approved by the International Association of Addiction Professionals.

When asked what type of changes they have made to honor their commitment to making things right with the consumer per the request of Ripoff Report, Dr. Estes expressed that since the comments were false they have been adhering to their highly effective methods of customer service. This includes allowing students to retake courses for free, taking free refresher courses, and buying one course and receiving the next for free. In addition, "we also have given in the past 5 years over $250,000 in free training. We go into the inner cities and we train people that want to clean up their home and their environment but maybe don’t know how and can’t afford the training - and we do it for free."

The Addictions Academy is proud to be a part of Ripoff Reports Corporate Advocacy Business Remediation and Customer Satisfaction Program. They view this as an excellent opportunity to clear their name of fraudulent reports and give consumers an accurate view of their services.

STATEMENT FROM THE ADDICTIONS ACADEMY:

Arden again. all of this is false and fake He never paid a penny for our class, He sent an extortion email demanding I pay him for the class he never paid for, then asked me to pay him for my trademark he stole (my atty sent a settlement letter for his price anyway) and he still posted on here. He then posted fake info about me and my company. He was a student in Feb 2015, he asked for a refund NOW because he early probation was denied when he lied to the court and said he got a DEGREE (we do not offer these) from me. He also makes it appear that our certs are fake and phony when they are not-- that is a lie. He has money laundering charges and identity theft charges and we never offered him a job. Again, his post is false and his claims are fake. I never once said I was a criminal psychologist nor is it anyplace. In addition, he NEVER PAID US A PENNY FOR THE CLASS.

CHRYSTY “CALI” ESTES – THE ADDICTIONS ACADEMY SCAM

THIS IS FROM A REAL FORMER STUDENT WHO GOT RIPPED OFF, NOT A COMPETITOR

I was a former real estate broker/mortgage banker in Beverly Hills, California. I lived in a gated, multimillion dollar Hollywood Hills villa with a panoramic view, just above the world famous “Sunset Strip” and was known as the “Rock and Roll Realtor” for throwing my famous star-studded parties.

My own addictions to sex, food, drugs, alcohol and gambling led me to a hedonistic “Hotel California” lifestyle

The real estate downturn caused financial problems for me and I became involved in business with people, who I did not realize were already convicted felons, in an attempt to earn funds to save my home from foreclosure

This business relationship would later cause me to be indicted on federal, white-collar money laundering charges

I became one of the best “Prison Lawyers” in the history of the “Federal Bureau of Prisons.” (FBOP)

As my own “Sentencing Mitigation Specialist”, I authored a 284-page 3553(a) Sentencing Mitigation motion with over 40 downward departures and served 10 years less than what the prosecutor requested, even though I went to trial, which only 3% of all federal defendants do.

I was both one of the elite “Inmate Companions on the Suicide Watch Team” with the FBOP Psychology Department and was accepted into the “Residential Drug Abuse Program” (RDAP), which grants an 18-month sentence reduction.

I authored my own 2241 motion while incarcerated, receiving an additional 12 months off his sentence.”

I filed over 120 “Administrative Remedies,” while incarcerated, resulting in a multi-jurisdictional lawsuit and won a large financial settlement against the United States of America.

I am continuing to file appeals to have my conviction overturned and more multimillion dollar civil rights lawsuits against the United States government.

After my release from incarceration I had to complete 3 years of supervised release (probation) in the Southern District of Florida.

I decided I wanted to enter the addiction field to help people, especially teenagers, with their substance abuse problems, so they did not go down the same wrong road that I had.

I completed many addiction courses while incarcerated. I Googled and found The Addictions Academy which was in Miami. I called and spoke to Cali Estes, whose legal first name I discovered later was Christy.

I explained my situation of being previously incarcerated and on probation. I told her I had very little money at that time to pay for courses.

Cali told me her own husband was a convicted felon and had been in jail over 20 times.

Cali told me that if I completed the Nationally Certified Recovery Coach (NCRC) course she would give me a job, which turned out to be a boldfaced lie.

The NCRC course was supposedly 16 hours delivered by webinar over a weekend. I even signed up a friend of mine for the course.

My friend and I paid a total of $1,065 each for the course and book.

I asked to meet Cali at her school location and she said there was no office. She just worked out of her condo. This should have been the first red flag.

I met her at a Starbucks near her condo. The book turned out to be thin, more like a brochure, very poorly written, as it was full of spelling mistakes.

The next Saturday morning, my friend and I signed up with “Go to Meeting” for the webinar. There were 3 other students and there was Cali on video sitting on her living room sofa in her condo.

The course turned out to be a real joke. Each day, Saturday and Sunday, the course which was supposed to be 8 hours daily, started late, ended early and was full of breaks, so Cali could answer her cellphone. It turned out to be about 4 hours a day of just hearing Cali rambling and bragging about herself.

When I called Cali the following Monday for my new job she had promised me, Cali told me I needed to take 6 more courses ($6,350), before she could hire me. She had completely lied to me, so I would take the first course.

I went out to find employment with my newly printed NCRC certificate and was shocked to hear potential employers literally laugh out loud and what they said about Cali and The Addictions Academy:

  1. “Cali is a fraud”
  2. “Cali is a scammer”
  3. “You lost your money”
  4. “The school is a scam”
  5. “You have been cheated”
  6. “The courses are worthless”
  7. “Nationally Certified” means nothing as there is no “National Certification” for the courses she offers. They’re just fake diplomas made up for marketing purposes.”
  8. “Cali uses a nickname because she doesn’t want people to know her legal name”
  9. “Cali had legal problems in California and had to flee to Florida, where she homesteaded a condo just like O.J. Simpson, so a court financial judgement could not be collected against her”

So, I incorporated a company titled, “The Addiction Coach, Inc.”

When Cali found out, she called me and said I was pretending to be her. I don’t know how I could do that as I am a man and she is a woman. She touted herself as “The Addictions Coach” with the word “Addictions” plural.

I told her I just wanted my money refunded. Her reply was

  1. She had a prepaid retainer with one of the best law firms in Miami to sue me.
  2. She was going to report to my probation officer that I was pretending to be her.
  3. Her husband got on the phone and threatened me with violence stating he was going to “Put His Foot Up My a*s”.

Cali said I had to dissolve my corporation or A, B, and C would occur.

Being on probation is like walking on egg shells. I had a rookie probation officer trying to make a name for herself and felt that she would believe Cali and violate me, therefore I dissolved the corporation.

I read on The Addiction Academy website that Cali had supposedly earned a Ph.D. to try and give herself more credibility.

It turned out that the unrecognized, non-regionally accredited university where Cali received her diploma was selling Ph.D. degrees for $500.

Cali stated in an email to me that she is a Clinical Psychologist and holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and Life Coaching from Dayspring University.

Christy "Cali" Estes" is not registered as a licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of Florida or any other state.

On her email caliestes2015@gmail. com it states Crim Psychologist. Crim stands for Criminal, so she is a Criminal Psychologist. These words are more fitting for her.

Notice how she left out the word “Christian” from the name of the university as she wants it to sound like a secular degree. Cali also omitted it on her school website.

Dayspring Christian University was the old name and now due to bad publicity it has been changed to Dayspring Theological University

On this page it lists the degrees offered:

universidaddayspring.com/?page_id=375

The university doesn't even offer a PhD in Clinical Psychology and Life Coaching.

Their website shows only a Ph.D. in Psychology (Biblical Model).

On this URL it states that PhD's from Dayspring Christian University were sold for $425.

ghanabusinessnews.com/2016/04/10/155569/

Here is a statement from the above URL:

"Some significant things came up during these interactions with the fake universities. The Dayspring Christian University emails were riddled with typographical and grammatical errors. In their first reply to my enquiry email, they referred to me as ‘Rev’ and I never told them I was a reverend minister, and I haven’t even bought the degree yet, which costs a paltry $500. When I wasn’t replying to their mails, they offered me a discount; I could pay the amount less $75! And I could either fly to collect the ‘degree’ at a ceremony in the US or they could arrange to confer it on me here in Ghana!"

Neither Dayspring Christian University nor Dayspring Theological University has any regional accreditation. They claim accreditation from an unrecognized organization, known as the AACT.

American Association Christian Therapists (AACT) is not listed as a Recognized Higher Education Accreditation Organization.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_recognized_higher_education_accreditation_organizations

Cali is using the same unrecognized AACT for the accrediting of The Addiction Academy on its website.

Telephone numbers listed on the bottom of the Dayspring Theological University website’s home page reflect how they market their cheap $500 Ph.D. degrees to many third world countries listing local telephone numbers, so the prospective student does not have to pay long distance charges.

Tallahassee, FL 32399-1050

myfloridalegal.com/pages.nsf/Main/E3EB45228E9229DD85257B05006E32EC

The complaint would be that Cali is advertising “Nationally Certified” courses when these are words she has just made up and they are fake diplomas, as there is no “National Certification” for the courses she offers. Students are induced to enroll in the course(s) by this false, fraudulent and misleading advertising in the belief that they could become “Nationally Certified” and therefore earn more income.

Florida Department of Education

Office of the Commissioner

Turlington Building, Suite 1514

Tallahassee, Florida 32399

The complaint would be that there is no state license from the Florida Department of Education listed on her school website, so Cali is operating her school illegally.

TO FILE A COMPLAINT AGAINST CHRISTY ESTES AKA “CALI”

Florida Certification Board

1715 South Gadsden Street
Tallahassee, FL 32301

FRAUD – FRAUD – FRAUD – FRAUD – FRAUD – FRAUD – FRAUD – FRAUD – FRAUD – FRAUD – FRAUD – FRAUD

  1. 1.    THE ADDICTIONS ACADEMY

The Addictions Academy is selling fake, false, phony, worthless, fraudulent degrees and diplomas, which are a “FRAUD.”

Teachers listed on The Addictions Academy have “SOLD THEIR SOUL TO THE DEVIL” for a few pieces of silver, just like Judas sold out Jesus in the Bible.

“CALI THE CON ARTIST” promised the teachers “FAME” and all they will get is “SHAME”.

The teachers are turning a blind eye to the “FRAUD” and are “GUILTY OF WILFULL BLINDNESS.”

When the Class Action Lawsuit is filed, all the teachers will be listed as Defendants, have to pay thousands of dollars in attorney fees and wish they never heard of The Addictions Academy.
