The Loan Depot TJD Financial Services Received on time payments and STILL repo'd the car Houston Texas
I had gone to The Loan Depot as I was in a bind with trying to take care of some business after becoming unemployed. I should have known that something was fishy when they said that I would have to pay back $3000 for a $900 loan. I was in a bind so I went ahead and did it.
I had been making weekly payments to them and then I had to go out of town for a family emergency. I let them know that I was out of town and would pay them when I got back since they would not take a credit card over the phone or any other form of payment. I went into the store as soon as I got back and made the payment. I went in a couple of days later to pay my normal weekly payment and they told me that I had a late charge of $180. I asked them why didn't they say anything before about the late charge and that I didn't have it to pay it. I had my normal payment. I'm not working, so I can only give you what is normally due. They called the lender and the lender was like the late charge was from when you were out of town and since there is the late charge it doesn't make your account current and we can take your car.
I told them that wasn't right being that I was unaware of any type of late charge and if all of my payments are current. They then told me to make the payment of the late charge when I could. So here it is, I go in a week later to make my next payment. They take the payment, ask about the late charge, to which I answer, I still can't pay, they say ok. Sunday morning, they repo my vehicle.
Of course tehy are closed on Sunday and I can't do anything until Monday morning. If I can't pay the late fee to you, how in any of heck am I going to pay the rest of the fees in order to get the car back!!! This place is absolutely horrible and I would never ever ever ever ever ever recommend that any go to this one or any other location if you can absolutely help it.
