The New Parkway Diner Ripoff Terrible service and horrible food Elmwood Park New Jersey
I've been to this diner for years and it was owned by someone else then. I remember the food and service being excellent. It has recently been renovated and I believe it'd under new ownership. I've been there twice because I like to give place at least two chances before I make a decision.
The first time I went I had to wait a while for a greek salad that I ordered. I was there for about 15 minutes before I got my salad. My friend ordered a caesar salad and it looked like they poured a bottle of mayo on top of some romaine lettuce. This had to be the worst greek salad I ever had. There was so much vinegar in my greek salad and the feta cheese was very mushy and didn't taste like feta cheese at all. I went there the following day for breakfast.
How bad can breakfast be screwed up. I ordered a western omelet with a side of bacon and my friend ordered the same. About 15 minutes later our order came out. My friends western omelet looked like an egg white omelet and it wasn't fully cooked. I have no idea what my order was but it wasn't a western omelet. It had some weird kind of meat and it smelled bad. It was also very slimy. The bacon looked like it was a week old.
The waiter kept apologizing and told us he had tried to talk to the owner about the food and the cooks to no avail. The owner walked by our table numerous times and asked everyone else how their food was but never once approached our table or even looked in our direction. I guess he doesn't want to hear any negative reviews. Avoid this diner like the plague. It has horrible service and horrible food and ownership that only cares about filling seats. The makeover that this diner received does not help the food or service.
