I placed a telephone order on October 17, 2008 for a walk-in bathtub (Alexander Deluxe model). My credit card was charged for the full amount - including shipping! This was unusual as most companies don't put the charge through until shipment is made. Lisa Arden, who claimed to be the owner at that time, explained that they needed the funds up front to cover their costs of manufacture and the prepaid shipping.
Interestingly, in another RipOff Report against this company, Lisa Arden states that the company was sold to Kirk Isenhour in September of 2008. However, she's the person I dealt with in October of 2008 and she told me she was the owner of the business.
I called on or about 11/20/08 and was told by a Monica Kosto that the company had been sold and Lisa Arden (who was the owner and salesperson when I bought the tub) no longer worked there. But Monica couldn't help me with any delivery information. She said she'd give the information to Kirk Isenhour, the president, and he'd call me back. He did call me that one time, explaining that because of a design change in that model, new forms had to be made and it would be another week before my tub could be shipped. I accepted that, but a month later I still had no tub. I called once a month for five months -- always getting the same response: they were having problems and it would be another week or two. finally, on 3/23/09 I called Isenhour and cancelled the order.
On 3/30/09 I called again inquiring about the refund. He asked if I had put the cancellation request in writing. I hadn't, so I promptly sent an e-mail to him confirming the cancellation of 3/23/09. On 4/13/09 I called him again at which time he said they were having financial difficulties and that it'd be about a week before he could get my refund check out. Needless to say, I'm still waiting.
In July, 2009 I rec'd the last email response from Isenhour in which he wrote:
