today's escape plus Charging me $25-$35 to cancel!!!! Internet
I was contacted on 9/2/10 about a $1 charge to my debit card for a "membership" with today's escape plus. This would have a $50 Walmart card plus a discount card. There was going to be a $19.95 charge per month if I didn't cancel in 30 days. I was given a confirmation number and a phone number to call to cancel. Today (9/6/10) I recieved another phone call, except this time the man was asking for the debit card number again for verification. I told him I would only give him the last four numbers and he put a "supervisor" on. This man told me if I didn't give him the entire number he would have to charge my card $25-$35. I told him since he already HAD the number it was verified. I also told him I had the confirmation number and the phone number to cancel. He informed me that was not the number. He ended up hanging up on me. I plan to change my debit card first thing tomorrow. I checked the phone number they called from and found out it was a private residence in Mississippi. The men i spoke with said they were from India.
