Travelocity Bait and switch airline ticket prices Internet
BEWARE: If you are purchasing tickets thru Travelocity please beware. Their website has cookies that are set up to take advantage of you. After you find the flights that work if you don't purchase them immediately, the site sends you an alert that the prices have gone up due to demand. It is a shady tactic that is designed to to cause you to react with fear and purchase the tickets now before the prices go up even higher. It is all a lie. Simply go to another computer and the prices will magically be back to the original, lower price. How this is not illiegal is beyond me. This happened to me and I paniced and purchased tickets to Italy thru them for $2700 when the actual price was only $1800.
If you don't call them to dispute this within 24 hours you are out of luck. I was unaware of the 24hr timelimit to call them out on their fraud so I am out the $900. They put that limit on their because they know they can discourage you with long wait times. Most people don't have have 1.5hr to sit on the phone so they have to put off calling till it's convenient and by the time it is...you can't get your money back. There needs to be a lawsuit to stop these travel companies from creating a false demand by lying to customers about price increases. I will never use Travelocity again.
