i have bought a new traxxas revo on july 13th, and the nitro engine that comes with the revo had major trouble right out of the box.so i phoned traxxas support and got some help but i still had trouble with the nitro engine that comes on the traxxas revo.after spending some time on the phone with support they told me to ship the engine backfor warranty support"

so i retuned the engine to traxxas for support,and hers what they told me.

the backing plate was on backwards meaning it was put together wrong from the factory.....so this cuased my engine to overheat and it also voided my warranty! so i had to pay 105$ for a new engine and the customer support was little to none......

i spent 507$ on the trasxxas revo when it was released back in july of 2004.....and the engine lasted 3 weeks and i did not receive the cusotmer support like i wanted..lousy product!!

to my above report. I WAS WRONG IN POSTING THE ABOVE STATEMENT. THEY Have very good support AND TRY TO HELP. THE RESON I POSTED THAT I WAS UPSET AND POSTED IT OUT OF ANGER BECUASE I COULD NOT GET A SIMPLE TUNING PROBLEM RESLOVED.AND IT WAS UNFAIR OF ME TO POST IT AND THEY DID OFFER TO HELP WITH TECH SUPPORT WITCH I IGNORED....SO I AM Apologizing FOR MY BAD COMMENTS AND POOR CHOICE OF WORDS. THIS COMPANY IS EXCELLENT FOR R/C PRODUCTS AND OFFER AWESOME CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND *YES* THEY HAVE HELPME MANY OF TIMES AND DID A LOT FOR ME IN THE PAST.....SO I ASK RIPOFFREPORTS.COM TO REMOVE THEABOVE REPORT I POSTED......... IT WAS A ERROR ON MY PART.

We received David's 2.5R on 8/5/2004. The 2.5R is a small 2-cycle engine that is used to power remote control (R/C) models. It runs on a methanol/nitromethane fuel and spins up to about 40,000rpm. If the engine was as large as the one in your real car it would make about 1,500 horsepower. Racing engines like this require a good deal of tuning, maintenance, and repair by the owner. This is part of the hobby which we enjoy (and sometimes curse at!). The inspecting tech who worked on David's nitro engine found the protective carburetor boot off, the engine backplate on backwards, the piston/sleeve worn, and dirt visible in the sleeve (an internal part of the engine). Those symptoms are usually associated with poor/no maintenance, poor tuning, and with going inside an engine when one does not have a good understanding of how the engines work or how they are reassembled. New Traxxas products are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship. It was the informed judgement of the Repair Manager that David's engine was not warrantable and suggested an Engine Replacement Program (trade in a worn engine for a new one at half price). David's new engine was shipped 8/18/2004. It is possible that David has posted this entry to retaliate for being banned from our website forums (where he was know as Graphite07); this came after racking up many warnings by different forum moderators. It is not my intention to bash David here, but rather to make it clear that there are two sides to every story. Hearing our side of the story may help onlookers make a rational judgement about what actually happened.
