I purchased a DVD Box set of the CBS TV show "Becker" for my father's christmas present and my card was immediately charged $70 on december 5,2009. On dec. 7 I recieved an email from them (tvdvdstore.net) that my order had been shipped and would take about 8-12 days. The same day I recieved another email from a personal email account from that site that stated the very same thing but said shipping would be 10-14 days. One email said it would show up as "herenowdvds" on my card statement and the other said it would show as "greathomedvd", it in fact showed as the "herenowdvds" one and only one charge was made.
When this set did not make it for christmas and was about a week late I tried 2 attempts to inquire about my order and why I was not sent a tracking number like the website stated I would. Neither inquiry was answered and that was about a week ago. I then ran across this website and saw all the reports on this company and the affiliates of it and I was in shock and panic of course after reading about the card fraud, product not showing up, bootleg product, etc.
A bootleg collection was not what I was after and their site definately does not state that is what you are going to get!
I filed a dispute with my card company 4 days ago to go ahead and get my $$ back and I saw earlier today they had credited me back the $70 2 days ago so I am at no loss as of now. Today the package arrived finally which I was not expecting. The product is just as the other reports have been and that is bootleg/pirated copies recorded directly from TV (superstaion WGN in my case). The commercials were cut out and the quality is watchable but not very good at all on what has been watched so far. Computer printed DVD covers and case and no way this is an official CBS box set.
I will be taking steps now to get my credit card number changed in order to avoid unauthorized purchases which some have said has happened but so far that has not and I have been keeping an eye on it. Since my $$ put back my card by my card company I am not sure what these people will do now. I would have asked for a refund for this product if I had not disbuted the charge anyway.
