I was on the internet and saw an ad for a Stay-at-home job and clicked on it for more information. Big mistake. This stay at home job was a job working for Google...I had to pay $1.95 for a google kit to be sent to my house. I authorized a charge of $1.95 with my debit card.

A few days later, I went online to check my bank statement and there was an unauthorized charge of $69.90 for a company called TW/EAuction. Actually, the charge hadn't gone through yet...it was still a debit card hold that was waiting to go through. Like most of America, I have been laid off from my job and on a limited budget.

I called the bank and was told that until the charge actually went through they couldn't do anything yet. I did some investigating and when I did a search on the internet for this company I saw a lot of complaints. Apparently they scam a lot of people.

TW/EAuction is also known as Pacific Webworks, so I googled Pacific Webworks and got their customer service number. I called right away and told the girl although I did authorize the $1.95 charge I did not authorize a charge of $69.90. She said I didn't read the terms and conditions...I was intially charged $1.95 and then I had to cancel in a certain number of days to avoid being charged more money.

I didn't cancel in time and my card was charged today. I told her there was no terms and conditions...I wasn't aware that I was being charged for anything else. I also said that I did this two days prior and that the charge had not gone through yet...it was a debit card hold so how could they even give me time to cancel in such a short period of time??

I told her that her that there were a lot of complaints about her company all over the internet about scamming people. I guess she didn't know what to say about that. She said she would cancel my account and I should get my money back...it should show up in my account within three days. I will see if I don't get charged...luckily I caught it before it hit my account.
