This is a horrible company.

When they first estimated the move, it was 80 dollars per hour and 3 hours job.  When they came to move everything out back in November, they charged me 7 hours labor when they were only there for about 3 hours.  Their reason was they were from Rockville and I lived in Columbia, with traffic, it took them approximately 4 hours commuting.  Then another $300 for packing material, then an additional $80 for fuel and mileage. They also charged me a month of storage rent upfront. So, 7 x $80 + $300 + $80 + $250 = $1110.

But that is not it.  I had my belongings in their storage for 6 months.  On the original contract, it said the last month would be complimentary and the monthly charge was $250.  Because I was overseas and it was difficult to communicate with the company, I gave them authority to to charge my credit card monthly, trusting they would do what is honorable.  However, I came home to find not only did I not receive the last month of storage for free, but I in fact paid for 7 months instead of 6.  So, what was supposed to be $250 x 5 became $250 x 7.  To top everything off, the company had the audacity to quote me $900 for simply moving all my things back for me.

When the movers came, I spoke with "the driver", who really was Isaac the man that originally quoted me all the prices.  I asked him how can he possibly charge me $900 for simply moving things back?  He answered that because the original move was $1100, therefore the "estimate" was $900 for this round of things.  I had to take out the original receipt (which he probably thought I no longer have) and pointed to him all the breakdowns.  He then said, I'll just charge you $560.  I didn't feel like arguing about the 7 hours any more, so I just paid.  (The movers were at my apartment by 0835 and left by 0930).

After they left, I realized they didn't bring back my paper shredder and broke three of my Japanese porcelain teacups.  I don't care about the missing paper shredder, but the broken teacups really upset me.  I love the set and now it is incomplete.  Hope I can find a decent porcelain repair/restoration shop.

All in all,  DON'T EVER USE TWIN VAN LINES!
