I bid on a computer from Ubid 2 months back and won the bid. It was for a Gateway 'mini tower' computer. I received a Gateway 'desktop' computer instead. When I contacted them about this, I was told to send it back for a refund and that I would have to pay for the shipping! Well, the computer they sent was internally the same as the one I had ordered, just in a desktop format, so I decided to keep it. When I opened the sealed box, the #2 restore disc was missing. I contacted Ubid about this but I was told I should contact Gateway. Gateway said that since it was not purchased directly from them and that it was a refurbished unit, the seller would have to give me the disc. I contacted Ubid again and was told that I would have to supply them with my order number, lot number, date of purchase, etc. and a lot of other useless (in my opinion) information and without this they could do nothing. I do not have all of that info. I think that with my full name, address, phone number and site log on name they should be able to pull up all my info.

To end a long story, I now have a computer that I cannot restore and as you all know that without restore disc(s), you have problems!

it was not ubids fault he should have made copies of all of his correspondence such as winning bid shipping confirmation and all other correspondents and save them then he would not have had any trouble
