I attended Ultrasound Diagnostic School In Oct. 2002 until Jan 2003, then re-inrolled in Sept. 2003. The first month was pretty much OK. I did notice that they went through instructors like crazy and the ones that were employed didn't know squat about any of the courses they were teaching.

The work was basic, one instructor just spent all day talking about her pitbulls and her kids, the other would just ramble about weird things. They didn't give any "one-on-one" learning and God forbid you had a question. The answer was always "IM not sure, I'll have to look it up for you" The only "lab" we were taught was how to put on gloves, and in the computer class, we were using a software that was the exact same thing as a class I took in middle school. The "Library" was a small room with useless information in it, people magazine, seventeen, fashion mags, etc., my class had MANY issues with the administration.

First we were told that any credits would carry over to any school of our choice, then that they wouldn't, then again that they would, we still don't know the real answer. After the complaint to the admin. all of a sudden my hours were being "accidentally" lost or not even put it at all, along with everyone else who made the inquiries with me. The reps give off a really good impression of the school and are very fake, I would consider them CAR SALESMEN, there really isn't a difference between the two of them.

The first time I enrolled with the school I was given an entrance exam. Apparently I "passed with flying colors" so when I was given the same test when I re-inrolled, I Christmas tree'd it and amazingly "passed with flying colors" again. The tuition for medical assistant was over 12,000 dollars. Out of that, I got one uniform that was way too big, never received my lab coat or my blood pressure cuff and stethoscope, they insisted that I had received one, (which you have to sign for) but could never produce the paper that I supposedly signed when asked for.

I have spoken to SEVERAL graduates of this school, no one will hire them and some still haven't received their diplomas, even after completing the course. This school is unmoral and unethical, and needs to be shut down!!!!!

I hope this finds someone who can give me some information. Was there a class action suit? When was it filed?

Who can I get in touch with?

HCSO is the "hillsborough County Sheriffs office" website.. you can use any search engine and find it, or the address is Hcso.tampa.fl.us\ but it usually doesnt work, so i'd suggest searching for it. Did you know Erwin Tech offers Medical assisting for about 3,000.00 IF NOT LESS!! and is funded by Hillsborough county schools, i was at UDS for only a short time and racked up over 2300.00 when i could have went to Erwin for the SAME course!! I was furious when i found this out. LOL, i will NEVER go back to UDS!!! let me know how the teacher search goes!!

Valerie: I'm interested in checking out this site. What is HCSO? I'm thinking of going back to talk to the new president and see if I can continue this month since I have only two months to go till I graduate, however; since I spoke up loudly what kind of sham school this was I not sure if they will let me. If I did'nt have the school loan to worry about I wouldn't bother. If you have had problems please contact the accrediting agencies with your concerns so they have will investigate this school further.

have you ever checked the HCSO site, some of the teachers have been arrested for firearms, drugs, and i know of at least one who was in prison. LOL, thats not what I call a "teacher." They also told me since I stopped going, then re-enrolled, that my 6 month grace period to start paying back the loans wouldnt count the first time I went and would start 6 months after my 2nd register date, which turned out to be a complete lie, Wachovia was sending me papers directly to the school, and they never felt obligated to give them to me. Which racked up tons of late fees on my part.

Valerie: I have also posted my rip-off report on this school. However, I was enrolled in their Ultrasound Diagnostic program but everything that you have stated occured in our class as well. Our program was accredited by CAAHEP and AbHES so I sent a letter to both agencies describing the problems with this school and that they need to pull their accreditation but the school lied (which their very good at doing) and so they have closed their investigation. I also sent a letter to the Independant Education for Colleges. Please look into who accredites your program and have everyone you know to send a letter to them stating all of your complaints. Maybe if they receive enough complaints they will look into this school more closely. Because I complained my hours needed to complete my internship increased as well till evenually they terminated me from the program two months before graduation. I am presently involved in a lawsuit with two former students against this school. Since I stay in touch with my former classmates I have recently been told that Ms. Marcella Brown as since left the school and now have a new president which makes number 4 in less than a yearand the new teachcer they hired in February is also gone but yet they clain their turnover is no less than anywhere else. HA! This school is a total rip-off. I am thinking about bringing this school to the attention of the media to bring more exposure to what a rip-off this school really is.
