United Van Lines ripoff Rude moving service and misleading quotes Alamogordo New Mexico
I was calling different moving companies to find the best price to ship my furniture. I decided to us United Van Lines because they quoted me $1150.00. I called them back to setup a pickup date and I asked them again for a quote, once again they told me for 2100lbs it would be $1150.00
I was told that they currently have a 62% discount on moves if the weight was 2100lbs or higher. They said that I should ship my furniture at 2100lbs inorder to receive the discount.
After the movers picked up my furniture I was told that the price for shippment was $1603.00. I called the local company and told woman named Marty that I was quoted at $1150.00. She instantly got snappy and rude. She told me that they quoted me for $1480.00 and that the extra $200.00 was charged for packing a mirror, small glass door and a small Korean table.
Even with the price of packing 3 things the most I should owe would be $1350.00. I told the woman that I called twice and both times I was quoted for $1150 shipping price. She didn't want to hear it and just kept repeating that I was wrong and that they quoted me $1480.00. She also hung up on me before we were finished talking.
Now I am stuck paying at least $200.00 more than I should. United Van Lines needs to take a closer look at who they are hiring to represent their company.
