Snatchy Cervasio is a beyoch, she'll say anything to students to get them to back off or go away. She's a horrible, horrible person and I'm sure that you were forced to pay more than just your first week. What UOP doesn't tell students is that they recieve financial aid fairly quick and the put it in a non-interest bearing account to make their profits look bigger than what they really are. After 3 classes they'll apply the funds. If the student cancels before 3 classes they send the money back and send the student a bill. If the agreement was that you won't be charged for the 1st week of class, then you shouldn't be charged.

What do you think of the last 'letter' I received from UOP stating my account is 'clear'. That should 'clear up my account' but for some reason Paul Michael Thomas, Financial counselor, NE Division continues to send me a $4,000.00 bill. He has been sent the letter from Nancy Cervasio, VP Student Services, numerous of times and continue to 'harass' me by sending me a bill of $3,000.00 now a second letter of a bill of $4,000.00. Are they really that 'dumb' in comprehension or just 'evil' people. Yes, they are that 'cheap', maybe they will get a hold of these complaints. lol I found a better college program 'regent accredited' unlike UOP, I will be registering for today, who accepts all my 104 matriculated credits unlike UOP who only accepted 78 of my credits. In the new college all I have to do is complete 16 more credits then I graduate. They also have a program whereas, you can study on your own within a limited time and take an 'exam' by proctor and get credit that way. Their tuition is only $299.00 per credit unlike UOP $454.00. This college is not displayed all over the internet it's word by mouth. At least I will see myself moving forward not backward as UOP had me in the direction of doing the 'moon walk' backward. lol

Thank you for the information, however, the information is fully not complete. I have copied an e-mail from Nancy Cervasio, VP Student Services stating, I will not be charged for tuition or fees. This situation should clarify everything. Here is it: Hello, Per our conversation, we will be withdrawing you from your course and the University of Phoenix Online . Students are typically charged for their attendance in courses. I have spoken with Nancy Cervasio, our Vice-President of Student Services and we have determined it is in everyone's best interest to not charge you for your week of attendance. We will not be able to make any future concessions in regards to your student account. Your student account has been placed in permanent drop status and your financial balance will be clear. If you should determine you would like to return, please contact me and we can arrange that. We wish you the best in your endeavors. Sincerely, Shana Shana Burkett, M.Ed, Counseling Services Manager, Northeast Division University of Phoenix | Online Campus 3157 E Elwood | Phoenix , AZ 85034 phone (800) 366-9699 x 77151 | fax (602) 735-4655 | email: [email protected]

I attended UoP til last week, when my last class, by choice, ended. I started laughing when I found out they'll be moving to Google. Google is a free service, and it actually shows how cheap UoP is to be using a free email service for their outrageously paying students. UoP can eat my socks.

OK so you attended from 2/19 to 2/25 which is basically one full week of attendance. I assume you are in a Bachelor's program at $494 per credit. Since this was only one class that would come to a total of $1482 for the tuition alone. The refund policy states that you are responsible for each week of attendance unless you withdraw before the 4th week. Before that the tuition is prorated on a weekly basis. After the fourth week you will be eligible for a grade and you will be responsible for the full cost of the class. Each class is 35 days long (7 days x 5 weeks). So $1482 divided by 35 days equals $42.34 per day. $42.34 multiplied by one week of attendance equals $296.38. Now your books are not refundable so that is an additional $70 that is your responsibility. So in essence you should only owe: $ 296.38 Prorated Tuition $ 70.00 Books $ 366.38 Total Unless they are claiming that you attended more than one week then you should not be responsible for the rest of the charges, only $366.38. Now one thing to keep in mind, you are not eligible for financial aid since it was only one week. It is too soon to get the money back, regardless of how long you were enrolled. I would talk to your lender to confirm if they made any payments to the school and let them know you dropped out after a week. You won't get any loan or grant money and you will be responsible for paying $366.38 out of your own pocket. Financial Aid money CANNOT be used to pay for a class that is withdrawn, incomplete or failed. UOP has to send the money back and charge you the $366.38 directly.

In February 2008, UOP has notify all students they will be merging with Google as of March 16, 2008. I'm not sure what it all entails, you're guess is as good as mine. I do know that they will no longer have (@phoenix) as their 'e-mail' address it will now be used as 'gmail'.

"I was not enrolled in any classes in December 2007 until January 18, 2008 as stated on the statement from UOP." I was not enrolled until 2/19/08. UOP is stating I was enrolled in Jan. 18, 2008 and December 2007. I didn't take any matriculating courses until February 19, 2008. I applied to go to UOP in December 2007, but would not agree or sign a promissory note until February 2008. I have an e-mail fron Nancy Cervasio, VP of Student Services stating "she will not charge me for tution or any fees." Obviously, that promise was ignored by Paul Michael Thomas, Financial Counselor, North East Division in that department, so I contact Keith Blanchard Chief Deputy of Post Secondary Schools grievances.

I see that you stated you were not enrolled in any classes in Dec 2007. But you also stated you did not enroll until the date of Jan 18, 2008. So is that the date you started class? Can you give us the actual dates you were in class along with the last day you posted a message in class?
