UPS Refuses to pay for damages to packages sent UPS several boxes returned to my company. The boxes were smashed and several of them were taped back toegther. ripoff business from hell, mental and financially devistating abuse Atlanta Georgia
I am a UPS shipper. I send and receive packages every day of the week. I received twenty (20) boxes that were smashed like they were run over by a truck. The corners were blown out and several of them were taped back together so that the product inside would not fall out. Ten (10) of the boxes contain electronic wristbands. ALL OF THE BOXES ARE UPS APPROVED AND DOUBLE BOXED.
I informed my customer about the condition of the merchandise and told him to file a claim. He did this right away and has been getting jerked around for over a month.
UPS repacked several fo the boxes inside other boxes since the condition of the boxes was so bad and then denied the claim. This is over $10,000 worth of product that I can credit my customer since I can not re-sell due the the condition from the abuse and damage. My customer is upset with me about this but understands that is really is not my fault.
These packages were sent by these two comapnies to my warehouse - Mailroom 570-387-3300 and Shipping Box 717-274-8300. Both of these companies are doing nothing to help my customer settle the claim with UPS. They have both washed their hands of the problem and also made my customer drive 3 hours to come and pick up the damaged product from both of these locations after I returned it to UPS and they then sent it back to the original point of shipment.
There does not seem to be a happy ending to this problem. I ahve acustoemr that is upset that they can not get a refund from me and UPS refuses to acknowledge responsibility for the damage done to the product!!! How can a company like UPS be allowed and get satisfaction from knowingly denying responsibility, subjecting the people who make them what they are to this mental and financially devistating abuse???
