The biggest scam artists in the oil change business!!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO VALVOLINE!!  They blew the motor on my truck by not doing oil change at all or did a half a** job of filling oil back up. About 2 weeks went by and my motor blew.. I checked oil and it was empty, and there were no oil drops in my driveway where I parked it every night. I called valvoline corporate office and told them what happened. They informed me the vista, ca location was a franchise and was told by corporate it will be ez to see in the oil change was properly done. And all they had to do was check the video footage of the oil change taking place. They called the vista store to talk to manager and he was at a meeting somewhere.so they sent assistant mgr from Carmel Valkyrie to my house. He arrived and took a look through the top of engine compartment only.. NEVER WENT UNDER MY TRUCK ONCE to check oil filter or pan. And said he was gonna go back to office and pull the video that corporate office said that they use to prevent incidents that are fraudulent. We'll the guy who came out called when he got back to his office stating he could not get in to the video footage of techs working on car cuz he didnt have password, he said he talked to vista manager and said he would do it the following day.well the next day the manager of the store calls me with an attitude saying it's my fault and they don't use the cameras all the sudden.  THIS DISTRICT MANAGER AND FRANCHISE OWNER WERE PISSED AT ME CUZ I HUNG UP ON THEM AND I CALLED CORPORATE, and the lady there says all decisions go through the franchise owner.. And he STRAIGHT UP LIED AND SAID HIS INVESTIGATIN LED TO IT NOT BEING VALVOLINES FAULT....

DISTRICT MANAGER HAD FRANCHISE OWNER CALL ME AND HE HAS THE BALLS TO SAY!!

Mr Lord? "WHAT IM SAYING IS WERE NOT FIXING YOUR TRUCK!!! ITS TO OLD AND HAS TO MANY MILES ON IT!! It was going to happen anyway"!!

i even called bearu of automotive repair and they cited valvoline for failure to keep the proper paperwork!!!  Because I did not sign a work order allowing them to work on my truck in the 1st place..  And California law says it must be signed prior to service being done...

Your report has one issue...the amount of time.

Had your Engine "blew" as you were driving home or even the next morning after driving it only a few miles, you may have had a valid claim.  But that is not what happened, you were able to drive this car around for about 2 weeks before it "blew".

There are dozens of things that could have happened in that period of time that could have caused it, but one of the unlikely ones is a faulty oil change 2 weeks before.   Because there is another point here.  Just about every car/truck has an oil gauge or light that if it is low it would alert you.  So if they shorted your oil change(or no oil at all) then your gauge should have alerted you immediatly.

As for them being citied for an ADMINISTRATIVE issue.  That is a long way from this technicality to fraud.  As even if they didn't have you sign, you took your car there gave them the keys and told them what you wanted done.  If that is all they charged you for, you technically did "authorize" it.  As this is also not the type of place you leave your car and come back hours later once they are done.
