Ripoff Report Verified™ REVIEW

EDitor's UPDATE: Positive rating and recognition has been given to VehicleHistory.com for its full commitment to quality customer service.

Ripoff Report's discussions with VehicleHistory.com have uncovered an ongoing dedication by the company to total client satisfaction. This means that clients can expect that the company will work towards finding a mutually satisfactory resolution to any concerns. VehicleHistory.com listens carefully to client concerns and sees them as an opportunity to learn from past mistakes and become more efficient as a company in the services offered and the support for those services.

VehicleHistory.com's CEO, Jennifer Mitchell has underscored her commitment to making the data and reports created on behalf of VehicleHistory.com's customers the best they can be. Ms. Mitchell and the rest of her team understand that accurate information -- effectively and efficiently accessed -- is the best service VehicleHistory.com provide. "Helping to enable consumers easy access to the most comprehensive vehicle data in North America is our mission and we're proud that our reports will help consumers make more informed decisions during their vehicle buying or selling experience, says Ms. Mitchell.

The information provided in this report below is based on comments made by Jennifer Work during an onsite inspection held by a third-party verification company with no biases towards VehicleHistory.com.

Vehiclehistory.com provides free comprehensive information to consumers who are in the market to purchase a car. They take the top automotive sites and transfer that information to their website. Additionally, they have partnerships with top names like Edmunds, Kelly Blue Book, and Car Connection. These partnerships allow them to provide state accident information like a Carfax or Auto check, but free of charge. Jennifer Work stated the following about her company, “[we provide] information that should be free for people, to be able to make a good decision. Obviously, with the hurricanes and the floods and all the different things going on, there’s going to be a ton of damaged vehicles. This kind of thing helps an individual make sure that there’s a clean title, it’s not a salvaged vehicle, it hasn’t been flooded or been on fire…it also gives information on recalls, pretty much anything that you’d want to find out when buying a car.”

Leads for Vehichlehistory.com are primarily obtained through their excellent search engine optimization. They are currently working towards adding a public relations and branding aspect to the company to further increase their online appeal. Interested customers can go to Vehiclehistory.com and explore by entering the year, make, model, or VIN number of a vehicle they are interested in purchasing. Ms. Work further explained, “if you enter a VIN number, it’s going to take you down a path where it will just provide the results of that VIN and it will give you the actual vehicle history report. Or, if you start to choose year make and model, of course, this is a lot more generic, it will give reviews on that year vehicle, photos, average cost, and mileage. So that experience is dictated by what the user is looking for.”

CUSTOMER CARE & COMPLAINT RESOLUTION – VEHICLEHISTORY.COM

During the onsite interview, Ms. Work was asked to describe a situation where a client was not satisfied with the level of service they received. Ms. Work expressed that they rarely receive complaints regarding their product. However, due to the fact that they are not in all 50 states, “if someone were to be in a state where we don’t have the detailed data—maybe they wouldn’t be excited about that. Because nothing is paid, and it is all a free service, it’s difficult to have complaints.”

When asked to comment on complaints posted on Ripoff Report’s website Ms. Work stated the following, “there is only one negative comment to my knowledge and that was before I took ownership of the company, before we changed it to a free model, and before we had over 20 different data partnerships to create what the consumer needs. So to me, it’s not relevant to what we do now or even the business that we run. That is simply something that is old from the way it was run before it changed into the current business.” To further assure consumers she stated, “everything we have is provided by a third party automotive authority. We don’t create any in-house date. Again, we aggregate from the top and most we respected automotive authorities.

When asked what type of changes they have made to honor their commitment to making things right with the consumer per the request of Ripoff Report, Ms. Work stated, “we changed it to a free model and added a significant amount of qualified data.”

Vehiclehistory.com is proud to be a part of Ripoff Report’s Corporate Advocacy Business Remediation and Customer Satisfaction Program, “I look at that very much the same as the Better Business Bureau rating and so forth. As a consumer advocacy site, of course, we always want to address and resolve any issues that a consumer may have. We aspire to come a full 360 from what they site originated as and again be known as the one true provider of good free information to help consumers stay safe and make a decision.”

I paid for a Vehicle Vin history report on vehiclehistory.com and got nothing.  I paid $2.95 for one report with a 7day trial.  After getting nothing on the vin I called the number under contact us.  I got a man with a foreign accent who took my email address so he could send me that report within 24 hours.  At that time I told him to cancel the membership immediately and he assured me he had.  After a few days and no report I called the company back and asked for a supervisor and I was told to call back in an hour.  I called my bank instead and disputed the charges.  Two days later I had a debit for $29.95 from a Propertyvalue.com out of Salt Lake.  I went straight to my bank and closed that account.

Alsough it's very important.

Just heard this from a friend. Apparently car thieves have yet again found a way around the system and steal your car or truck without any effort at all.

The car thieves peer through the windshield of your car or truck, write down the VIN number from the label on the dash, go into the local dealership for that car brand and request a duplicate key for it from the VIN number.

Car dealerships make up a duplicate key from the VIN number, collect payment from the 'customer' who's really a would-be car thief for making up the duplicate key — the car thief goes back to your vehicle, inserts the key they've just gotten and off they drive with your car or truck.

They don't have to break in, don't have to damage the vehicle and draw no attention to themselves as all they have to do is to walk up to your car, insert the key and off they go to their chop shop with your vehicle!!!
