DSL with Verizon will not work! better off going with Time Warner cable in western New York! We have had the service for three months Nine days after our connect date no internet! Any calls to any support ie.......1=800-567-6789 will resort in disconnection or transfer to India where you are greeted by someone who will lie about there real name Ie.. My name is ..... Bob. Steve, Sara,John, William...ETc.... The Problem has always been at the central office ! Numerous calls have been made to support about inter-minted connectivity! The house modem has to be reset at least 5 or more times a day for the last three months.the last service call to India was after reset of the modem 49 times!!! Verizon sent a message stating the problem was at the Central office but still even though I have new phone lines at my home and  Verizon technicians have verified that the lines are good! I have to take off from work to meet with a Tech 8-12,1-5 or 5-9???? I make 20 dollars an hour and must take off from work to wait for a tech that will never show up or call! I HAVE WAITED WELL OVER AND LOST 2500 DOLLARS OF INCOME FOR THIS SERVICE! Do the Math for yourself is it worth it??? Dsl internet thru ATT or Ameritech in other parts of the country do work and phone support is in the U.S.Other Broadband service thru the cable company's ie....Cox,Comcast,Time warner Also work,and if you have problems you will talk to someone locality for support!

Welcome to the "club", so-to-speak, of both current and former dissatisfied Verizon Internet customers!  I had Verizon's Internet for about 3 months a number of years ago and became so disgusted with the exorbitant slowness of their Internet speed and lack of customer service that I ended my contract...and without having to pay their absurdly high early termination fee.

Isn't it interesting how Verizon advertises its Internet as "High Speed DSL?"  There isn't ANYTHING at all "high speed" about DSL!  They have a lot of audacity to advertise such blatently false material!  What's SLOWER THAN DSL...I certainly don't know of anything...except perhaps my TOILET flushing! 

May I also suggest you try what I did.  I wrote a very tersely-worded (but congenial) letter to Verizon's Corporate HQ detailing specific dates, times, representatives names, results of customer service conversations I had (or lack of resolution to the problem(s) presented), etc.  I further stated that in view of Verizon's failure to provide satisfactory customer service and the grossly inordinate amount of time and outright frustration I expended attempting to obtain same, that any assessment of an early termination fee was inappropriate.  (As stated previously...the early termination fee was waived in my case).

(Be sure and send your letter via Certified Mail w/ a return receipt request)...otherwise...you can bet Verizon will say they never received it!  In addition, file a complaint with your local BBB.  There are other Internet providers out there, particularly those using fiber-optic technology which have above-average or excellent service.  I hope you are successful in your endeavors!

If more consumers would begin deluging Verizon, the BBB, (and the FTC) with complaint mail...then perhaps Verizon would wake-up!  TO VERIZON...START REVIEWING ALL THE MASSIVE NUMBERS OF COMPLAINTS AGAINST YOU ON THIS WEBSITE ALONE!  GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER FOR A CHANGE.  KEEP IN MIND WHAT HAPPENED TO THE WALL STREET FIRMS...BECAUSE YOU ARE CERTAINLY NOT TOO BIG TO FAIL EITHER!
