THE ANSWER TO BOTH OF THE ABOVE IS I JUST DO NOT KNOW WHO IS ON THE OTHER END OF THAT COMPUTER TRANSACTION. NOT ONLY THAT BUT THEY HAVE PROGRAMS NOW THAT CAN INFILTRATE YOUR COMPUTER'S STORAGE SYSTEMS AND CAN GET ALL OF YOUR FINANCIAL AND PERSONAL INFORMATION --ASSUMING YOU ARE DUMB ENOUGH TO KEEP IT IN YOUR COMPUTER-- IT SUCKS IT RIGHT UP LIKE A VACUUM CLEANER AND THEN THEY USE IT AGAINST YOU TO COMMIT FINANCIAL FRAUD IN YOUR NAME! I CAN'T IMAGINE ANYONE PUTTING THIS INFORMATION ON THE FRONT PAGE OF A MAJOR NEWSPAPER THAT GOES WORLDWIDE BUT THAT IS WHERE THE INTERNET GOES AND IF A PERSON CAN FIGURE OUT THE ALLEGED SECURITY CODES SUPPOSEDLY TO KEEP THE TRANSACTIONS SAFE, THEN THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO CAN FIGURE OUT A WAY TO HACK INTO THOSE TRANSACTIONS AND STEAL THE INFORMATION THAT IS PUT THERE. I WOULD KEEP THAT IN MIND THE NEXT TIME YOU CONSIDER DOING BUSINESS ONLINE.

"However, I got sick, and was unable to get out, so I used Western Union online to wire money." Why didn't you used MoneyGram still? I've sent them online. In fact after being questioned and rejected be Western Union, I sent it through MoneyGram. Wal-mart did not make you use Western Union and Wal-mart has no relation to Western Union. Wal-mart does however work with Moneygram. "Well, Walmart 'flagged' this suspected fraud, and was feeding Western Union these questions. However, the reason it was flagged is because for three (3) weeks in a row I had used Western Union instead of Walmart's Money Gram service. However, Walmart still held the money I had attempted to send, and so I could not use any another service for 15 days--as my money was frozen." Wal-mart does not flag these things and again does not work with Western Union... (Kmart uses Western Union.) MoneyGram has the ability to flag any strange transactions so I believe Western Union is able to as well. Also MoneyGram and Western Union are two different businesses. You must have been doing something very shady and most likely illegal to have one contact the other. By any chance does your daughter live in Jamaica?

Western Union is ground zero for fraud, just about every scam out there requires someone to send money to someone else using Western Union. You had 3 WU Transactions in 3 weeks, and that could be considered suspicious. They got this verification information from your credit report, and at some point either through Wal-Mart or Western Union you gave them permission to access your report. They are asking you things that only YOU should know. If you don't know the answers they have a reasonable suspicion that you may not be that person. I think if you were on the other end of this, where your card was being used fradulently. You would be very upset if they went through all of this and still let the charge go through. That being said why are you even using Western Union, you are paying a high price to transfer money. Even a "wire" transfer between banks is going to be a higher cost. There are several cheaper ways to do this. One way would be to open up a Joint Account for the explcit purpose of you depositing money and her taking the money out. There are several national banks that I am sure are where you are and where your daughter is at college. Some banks may even allow you to deposit money directly into her account. I also love this quote from your post. "...Apparently, if you do ANY business with Walmart, even with debit cards and credit cards NOT related to Walmart, or buy alcohol or tobacco at a Walmart store, they use the credit/debit card names and numbers, as well as info from your DL or ID to run background checks on you. This way they can call the police if you have warrants.." -Wow..who needs a "Dog the Bounty Hunter", just wait for these people to purchase something in Wal-Mart and watch the SWAT team take them to the ground. Great, now all we need is a marketing genius to get fugitives into their local Wal-Mart.
