I deposited cash about 50 times in the past 5 years as a wamu customer and I've never had a problem doing that there until late last year in 2007 the bank teller lady counted my cash ( sometimes they take it out of sight to the cash - counting machine and sometimes count it out loud where you can see it - the latter is obviously the best option, I know) and told me an amount which meant that I was missing $20 from that pile then I thought I miscounted but I was angry since I frequently deposited large amounts of cash at that particular branch and she saw me there all the time and most of the time, helped me with transactions so I was VERY suspicious. I always count my money the same, also recount about 2-4 times before EACH deposit. About a month later, I went to the other location at the corner of Fairfax and Beverly as my new branch to see what was up and, of course, make a deposit. A lady teller took my cash, counted it but I wasn't looking the whole time, dammit then she said this amount was $200 less than what was supposed to be there:( I asked for the manager and the manager was also a woman; she herself counted the money but I forgot to mention the cameras should be used now... I was so weirded out I just left and I am switching banks, dammit. I am also a woman so not prejudiced at all but they were all women, and those women were all middle-aged with bleached-blonde hair. The one at the Larchmont Branch is younger than the other two at the Fairfax Branch, has a scar on her forhead and she's pale. WATCH OUT!
