My family recently found this scam artist at the Norwalk Oyster Fest in Norwalk, CT during the September 8th weekend. We ordered custom wooden sign for the lawn and paid a deposit of $40 for a $100 order; balance was still due. He did not take credit cards (claimed machine wasn't working) nor did he have a website.
We waited the customary 8 weeks (although order said 8-16 weeks) and called the number (315-474-0800) which was "temporarily unavailable." Then emailed (
[email protected]) and still haven't heard from the individual.
Furthermore, I went online for a google search and found numerous (I mean TONS!) of complaints about this scheister. Sham! Terrible, terrible, terrible. The Better Business Bureau also gave his business an "F."
I plan on contacting the Oyster Fest organizers to complain; but am not sure how far my complaint will go. He must do the rounds at art festivals and scam others. This is a professional scam artist of the best kind.
Obviously there are many lessons to be learned here and I certainly learned mine the hard way.
