Westgate Resorts ripoff 1st attempt to book vacation turns into 5hour circular phone call no vacation booked! Orlando Florida
We went to Westgate, listened to what they had to say and belived them, just like most others. We purchased on 12/27/05. We tried to book our first "vacation get-away" on March 5, 2006. This turned into a 5 hour long phone battle! We never won! We could not get a room in Las Vegas using our "get-away" and when we asked when a room would be availabe, we were told August and the cost would be $775., not the $99-$299 price we were told during the presentation.
We bought the whole thing based on these "cost saving get-aways". We know that we have been burned because they never intend to give you an inexpensive place to stay. This was further frustrating because a friend got on the web site, received a phone call back in 20 seconds and got a room in the place that we wanted to stay (Westgate Flamigo).
The only catch for them was they had to take the timeshare tour. An OWNER could not get a room there! A perfect stranger that can be deceived is welcomed with open arms!! They blame this on the fact that you have to book your "get away" through Interval International. I guess they only give them 1 room a year for that location for anyone/everyone that owns a timeshare?
When you pay thousands of dollars, find out that it's all lies and you ask to speak to a manager, guess what...they will NEVER transfer your call. Instead another person gets on the phone to preach to you, just how this program works and explains that they are not the problem but that WE are the problem.
The problem is that they lie and do not provide the services they promote. I will go stay in Vegas the week that I want and I will not stay with Westgate!
I will report them to all agencies and take this to whatever level I have to in order to clear any and all leins that they place on my credit!
Word to the wise, always place these charges on credit card and DISPUTE when they do not deliver!
