Whirlpool window airconditioner, under warranty, will not honor warranty ripoff deception Benton Harbor Michigan
I purchase a whirlpool window air conditioner from a local home improvement store. Before purchasing it, I looked at the warranty and noticed it said quote "your air conditioner is designed to be repaired in house." The air conditioner is 11 months old and has started to freeze up. It still keeps the house about 85 to 90 during the day and about 80 to 85 at night.
The problem is none on the companies they have as repair facilities, will repair the thing in house. They have told me they will take it to the shop and it will be from 3 days to 2 weeks. Right now, it gets to 100 during the day and 90s at night. We cant go without A/C. This is Texas. 95% humidity.
Not to mention the hole they would leave in the wall. I have called so many times, emailed, faxed and they just either dont respond or try to tell me that statement in the warranty is not really what they meant to say. WHAT!!! They actually told me to call the Box store I bought it at and see if they would repair it. They are rude, when I was patient. I will never ever buy another Whirlpool product as long as I breath.
My family sweats everynight because whirlpool will not honor their warranty. I ask them to replace it, since they could not honor thier warranty and thats when they get nasty. They absolutely do not care. They messed with the wrong Texan this time. I will take this fight as far as possible.
My plans are to file on them through legal counsel. Then we will see what they think when there company name is dragged through the media as my wife and child tell how we had to plan our life around thier repairmen only to be told, they couldnt repair it. Do yourself a favor and avoid the Whirlpool company. They do not honor their warranty. I am a Big mouth Texan and I will blab to every person I see about what whirlpool has done to me.
