We are an electrical service company. In Aug 08 we completed the work contracted by Winston Builders/Manuel on the Mondrian Hotel in Scottsdale
When we asked for payment we got partial then a couple of months lated we asked for payment and got partial Now it is Feb 09 and again we are leaving msgs on Manuels phone for payment with no results ... and you can forget trying to get any kind of response from Winston Builders ...not gonna happen
So I would say to the public ...BEWARE of General contractors that dont pay the subs , because you could end up being liable.

Winston Builders, Inc. never had ANY valid contract with this company. This company entered into a contract with someone who misrepresented themselves as Winston Builders, Inc., but, amazingly, this company never called or otherwise contacted Winston Builders, Inc. to confirm the contracts validity. Our phone numbers and addresses are available through the Arizona Registrar of Contractors, as well as the phone book. But, without ever validating that Winston Builders, Inc. was, indeed, hiring them, they went forward with the contract and the work.
They say they asked for payment, and got "partial payment".....but they never received any payments of any kind from Winston Builders, Inc.
Since they did not ever confirm that the contract they entered into with Winston Builders, Inc. was valid, and since they never filed any preliminary lien notice to the Owner of the project, or THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR, they had no options left to pursue for payment of what was due to them. They were victims of their own mistakes.
There are many valid and legal avenues open to contractors, suppliers, and individuals who have a VALID complaint against General Contractors. This company did NOT make any of those avenues against Winston Builders, Inc. Instead, they went on various websites, such as this one, to make unsubstantiated and defamatory remarks.
This is the new world we live in. You can say whatever you want to against anyone, with no accountability, and anonymously. Yet, it is MY company whose integrity is called into question! Winston Builders, Inc., Tucson, Arizona
