COMPLAINT INFORMATION:

Complaint #: 1698584

Complaint Type: General Complaint (not a car maker)

Date Received: 10/26/2004

Primary Complaint Classification: Selling Practices

Secondary Complaint Classification: Service Issues

Complaint:

When I purchased the coins I was told that they would be sold on the european market for 3-5 times what I pd. for them in mid April. Prior to this I had tried to contact them , when I did make contact I was told that Mr.Davis had a diabetes problem and that my rep. was now Mr. James Patrick. I was told from a customer service rep. Mr. Mike Stevens that the show was going well and that the selling price was 8-10 times what I pd. for them. After approx. 1 week I tried calling again to find out what the statis was.

Then after many attempts to try and contact them I talked to Mr Eric Stratton and he assured me that he would have Mr. Patrick call me, but to no avail. I finally got in contact with them again after many attempts and spoke with Mr. Ben Wagner and he told me that he would have Mr. Patrick call me,but to no avail. After many more attempts to contact the co. I talked to Mr. Stevens again and was told that the selling price was going for 14-18 times what I pd for them and that it was the reps job to get the most out of the product that he could. But at no time was I contacted and told that there was a bid on these coins. I asked the question is it the reps decision to settle for a price when I was the owner of the coins? I was then told that the coins were being shown on the Japaneese mkt, and the show was going well and that as an investor I should be more patient, and was told at that time the coins that I owned were not even being looked at .

I have made an extremely amount of ph. calls to this company and have even had the answering service threaten me due to the amount of times that I have called. If this is the type of service they provide I feel that as a client who purchased products from them I shouldn't be kept in the dark as to my investments. I can go to my local ph. company and get records of exact dates that I tried to contact them. I only ask that you check into the practice of this company and please let me know if you would need any other information from me.

Desired Settlement: Other (requires explanation)

Settlement Explanation:

I would like to have the company give me a detailed description of what the coins like these sold for at each of the auctions and then give me a fair settlement based on what I was told and the selling price. Also I would like to know why I had to initiate the ph. calls to find out what was going on, when they could have done this. I feel that I was exploited from the service of this company and that the failure on their part to keep me informed was very negligent. Still no return ph. call.

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, it's paid for!
