Zingo Telecom rips off child support debt card Ft. Lauderdale Florida
In December of 2006 I ordered service from Zingo Telecom. I was starting a home business and needed a seperate line for this business. Coincedently in January of 2007, just short of 30 days after signing up, my computer crashed and burned. I had to say goodbye for now to the home business and cancelled my Zingotel service in addition to my broadband. Since I no longer had a computer in order for them to send me a "Return Authorization Form" for their equipment, I had suggested they snail mail the form. They never did, so I had my father pull up their address for me and I sent back their equipment.
For the last 7 months I thought everything was fine, never got a bill, letter or phone call of any kind stating that they never got their equipment. Then today I checked my Texas Child Support Visa debt card and what do I see, a $99.95 charge to my child support card!!! This money is to go for the care of my children not to some company that can't use a regular post office. Yes I started the service using this card only because they wouldn't do a check by phone or EFT, but it was also used to get a phone to run my home business and that would have benefited my children if my computer hadn't crashed
I called the Texas Child Support Visa debt card company and put a dispute on the charge immediately and I called Zingo Telecom disputing this charge. At first customer service claimed they couldn't help me until I told them I would call an attorney, know they are forwarding my complaint to the billing department for investigation. I plan on pursuing this matter to the fullest extent, upon the child support divisions investigation charges may be filed against Zingo Telecom.
I will provide updates in this case as they become available.
