I work investigating consumer fraud for the State of Alabama. Therefore, I was surprised that this company would defraud me. So I checked forums and databases for complaints and discovered Autoplicity has deceived or missrepresented its services and products to dozens of other people across the United States.

I paid for 4 tires in 2 payments. One payment of $290.46 was for 2 tires and was paid from my checking account on October 15, 2021. The other payment was also for the same amount and again for 2 additional tires. That was paid from a credit card. Autoplicity called me on my cell phone the next day to inform me that it had sent me 2 tires but did not have the other 2 in stock. The it offered to sell me 2 of the tires at about double their advertised price. I immediatly canceled both sales and demanded a refund. As of today, that was 36 days ago and I have not been refunded any money even though I returned the 2 tires to Autoplicity within a couple of days of receiving them. I have emailed Autoplicity repeatedly and it has repeatedly informed me it refuned the total of $580.92 I was charged and paid.

Autoplicity told me within a week it had refunded my credit card half of my payments. That is false. My credit card statement arrived today (November 19th) and no refund in shown on it.

Autoplicity informed me it had sent my refund to my bank account and that it was the bank causing the delay. I checked with my bank and discovered this too was false. My bank has received no refund or any record of any refund.

Alabama law required consumer products to be delivered within 30 days, or if cancelled, the money paid for the product to be refunded within 10 days. Autoplicity appears to be in violation of this law. It has now been 36 days and I have received no refund. My next step is to open fraud complaints aginst Autopplicity with my credit card company and with my bank. Additionally, I will now have a law enforcement investigator begin investigating Autoplicity for violations of the Alabama Deceptive Trade Practices Act.

I am reviewing records from 32 complainants who gave information to a consumer fraud reporting organization and I see where the BBB has 85 review of this business, nearly all as bad as can be rated (one star of five). Many complaints concern refund problems and the sale of inferior products.
