Dish TV is trying to charge us an early termination fee after we have been good customers for over two years. when we tried to leave to go to another service after more than two years, they claim we renewed our service, in December of 2018. We did not. They said that they would research it and send us proof. Then they said we would have to subpoena the proof. I told them that I did not have to subpoena anything. I knew that I did not renew, and that I did not need to subpoena anything. I filed a BBB report, BBB did not require Dish to give any explanation of why they were doing what they did, they merely accepted Dish word. I am not sure why BBB calls themselves a Consumer Investigative Bureau, because they have become just a spokes person for their large customers. Dish is losing hundreds of thousands of customers to Direct TV and streaming services, and is desperate to do anything to keep customers.

The BBB is NOT part of ANY government or law enforcement body. The BBB has ZERO POWER to do ANYTHING! The ONLY purpose of the BBB is to DECEIVE the public by calling themselves a "bureau" to make themselves into something they are NOT. The BBB will SELL their PHONY accreditations and PHONY ratings to ANY business which wants to buy one and then hide behind the BBB while they continue to treat customers poorly. The BBB fake "mediation" program is you going up against one of their PAYING CUSTOMERS with the FAKE MEDIATOR being a PAID EMPLOYEE of the BBB. That PAID EMPLOYEE is NEVER going to decide against one of the BBB paying customers who BOUGHT their PHONY A+ rating.
