Do Not Hire Elite Custom Cabinets, Jeremey Alonzo to Build Your Cabinets!!! We are building our home in LaRue TX.
We hired this custom cabinet builder out of Lindale, TX to build the cabinets for our kitchen, butler’s pantry, office, 2 bathrooms, utility room and closet in our new home. We met May 20, 2024 to discuss what we wanted included in the cabinet build, gave him a copy of our floor plan, we agreed on his price for the job, he said he could complete job by end of September and we paid him the money he wanted upfront. I emailed and texted him several photos of examples of the things we discussed to be included so that we were on same page. We changed some things and agreed on new price.
We then met August 8th to finalize all drawings with the changes made and the new final invoice. He said he needed another $….. for materials. We told him that he needs to get started on our cabinets now and he said he would immediately and they would be ready end of September for installation. Then informed us mid September he had delays but would be finished mid October.
We went October 4th to his shop to deliver our oven vent for the vent a hood build and he only had 4-5 base cabinet boxes and a bookshelf done and he was wanting another $….. for materials. I was livid and asked where the other monies went that we gave him in which he through up his fist at me and started cussing. He said he used the money to fix his truck, buy tools and pay rent. He also said he did these items in the last 4 days and will have everything completed and be able to install middle of October. I didn’t want to give him any more money but husband paid him.
Two weeks later he called wanting more money. My husband drove to his shop loaded our oven vent and took photos of what he has done so far. All he had was base cabinet boxes for kitchen and butler’s pantry and the bookshelf, there were no drawers, doors or upper cabinets and nothing for the two bathrooms, office or utility room. My husband also took photo of a small amount of lumber Jeremy pointed to saying that was the materials to finish out entire job. Husband told him he wasn’t getting anymore money and left. He texted my husband blaming us saying his family would be thrown out of their home because we won’t give him money he needs for rent.
He has two other complaints that I know of, one as recently as a few days ago. And has C- rating with the better business bureau and they state his company has only been in business 2 years. Not only are we out 72%+ of total price which is a lot of money we have to start all over with another cabinet builder. And our build is on hold waiting for cabinets.
