My name is Boyd coddington. I have been battling a claim I have with WK Webster for months. I purchased my insurance policy from WK Webster to insure my storage unit at IStorage in Kansas City, Missouri. In March of 2022 my storage unit was broken into and emptied out. I have jumped through hoops and bent over backwards to provide all the documents to Kelly Plaszczyk via NSA Brands corporate office to Mr.  Jim Hubbard and his colleagues including a full police report she claims she never received. Ms. Plaszczyk has been no help and in fact, she has been a hindrance requesting documents that I supplied over a year ago and flat out refuses to pay my claim. 

 

I have sent a demand letter for immediate payment of my claim under the insurance policy WKN 177/22/10195, issued by MK Webster. I am the policyholder and have fulfilled all the necessary requirements to qualify for the claim. My storage unit # 1620 was broken into and completely emptied out. That unit falls within the coverage of the policy. I promptly filed a claim with WK Webster, providing all the necessary documentation, including the completed claim form, case number, full police report, medical records, and any other relevant information requested by their claims department.

 

Since the submission of my claim, I have diligently cooperated with their representatives, providing any additional information or documentation required. However, despite the passage of time since the incident, I have yet to receive any payment or a satisfactory explanation for the delay.

  WK Webster is absolutely shameful and are scammers PERIOD. I was in the hospital when my unit was broken into. The Property Manager called me on my cell phone while I was in the hospital to inform me my unit had been broken into. The property manager supplied photos and the video surveillance to their corporate office at NSA Brands and NSA Brands informed me through their regional manager that they were going to file the claim, provide photos and video surveillance to WK Webster. I did try to obtain the video surveillance from the property manager but was informed it was against their company policy to release video to customers. In addition I tried to obtain video surveillance from the Kansas City Detectives that we’re investigating and again, I was told that they do not release video surveillance to victims until the investigation is completed. as per NSA Brands request, I did in fact supply the FULL POLICE REPORT to NSA Brands and was told they would get the report to WK Webster. If you read WK WEBSTER’s response to your inquiry, they admit they received the police report and two sentences later, they state they didn’t receive it. Also, the KC Police department told me that fact I provided WK with a case number they were authorized to request a copy of the police report from them. However I informed Kelly the claims manager but she flat out refused to do so. After recently speaking with the KC Detective, he told me based on the evidence they currently do have, including the video surveillance, KCPD’s number 1 suspect is the property manager at the IStorage facility that my items were stolen from. That being said, it’s my opinion that this entire claim is being covered up and the reason WK Webster is trying to burry this claim into oblivion. After going through my policy, WK Webster has NOT provided me any valid reason why claim was be denied. The WK Webster policy does not include any specific exclusions that falls within the reason they are denying my claim. Further, I was not informed verbally about any of the reasons they are denying my claim for. Policy exclusions: The following are the only exclusions I could find that I could possibly be denied for and I do NOT nor did I violate any of the following. 1. Lack of coverage: policy may not provide coverage for the specific type of damage or loss for the claim. This does not pertain to me because my loss far outweighs the value of what I was storing. 2. Failure to meet policy requirements: No where in the policy, nor was I verbally informed that I was responsible for providing ANY of the items WK WEBSTER is requesting and denying my claim for. In fact, I went above and beyond to provide additional proof. 3. Negligence or intentional acts: If the damage to your property was caused by your own negligence or intentional actions, unexpected or accidental events. I was not responsible for any of the previous reasons. 4. Non-payment of premiums: I paid all of my premiums on time and per the policy requirements.

  WK Webster sent me an official letter denying my claim and knowingly made and used false statements, misrepresentation, fraud and unfair claims practices. I have retained an attorney and per his recommendation I have filed complaints with the following agencies. I would urge all of the other reviewers that have been scammed to file complaints at the same agencies. In addition to a lawsuit my attorney has instructed me to file fraudulent reports to all of the below agencies because in your denial letter, you knowingly made and/or used false statements, misrepresentation, committed concealment and have committed intentional fraud. -New York Attorney General -Department Of Financial Services -Better Business Bureau -Federal Trade Commission -Consumer Business Alliance -Consumer Financial Protection Bureau -National Insurance Crime Bureau -National Association Of Insurance Commissioners -Coalition Against Insurance Fraud -insurancefraud.org -Insurance Complaints Office of NY -NYC FBI Office of consumer Fraud Division.
