I recently applied and was hired by the company as a stylist, from the first time going in I had a funny feeling about the place. A lot of things seemed unorganized and a little off. We agreed to 40% commission for all services that I performed, although one of the owners kept pushing to try and have me perform services on her for free!
After slightly over two weeks from hire and no work I was finally given a client. I performed her services which she loved and was to earn the commission for this service. Soon after this I was contacted by a company that I had previously applied to for a dream position which I accepted. Once I decided to leave Yardly Day Spa their entire attitude towards me changed drastically.
They were suddenly rude and aggressive they then told me that they had already ordered business cards for me and that "they were not willing to take a loss on them" and took the money out of my commission! When I pick the cards up I soon realized that they had not ordered the cards untill after I told them that I was quitting.
I have reported them to the department of Labor and will let the state deal with them. but to any stylist thinking about working here. DONT! STAY FAR AWAY! Also if you are a potential client seeing this, know that behind the scenes this place WILL NOT PASS INSPECTIONS. Protect your health!
