3ix Web Hosting servers were hacked in the last 48 hours, possibly even longer ago. I have over 10 websites with 3ix alone. 3ix promises a 99% uptime or they refund your money for the month. With a monthly cost of $1, I don't stand much to gain with a refund and what I am worried about is the past 3 months of content that has been added to each one of my sites. Content that I have paid for and spent time adding to the websites. All of these sites were blogs and I added plug-ins as well as other customizations. I designed and spent hours of my life working on these websites.

3ix provides a customer service number with a promise of returning calls withing 60-90 minutes. I understand that can be tough and especially in a time of crisis. I left a message with customer service over 5 weeks ago and it still hasn't been returned. So, I have been online chatting with technical support for the past 48 hours trying to understand when my websites will be addressed.

Needless to say, I was frustrated by a few things:

1. She wouldn't give me any identifying factor of who she was. A fake name misspelled doesn't help.

2. She didn't listen and even try to help. Just gave me a canned response.

3. She ended the chat by not responding, so I was unable to get a hold of anyone on the phone or receive any help. I left a message 5 hours ago, but I'm not counting on that.

I am utterly frustrated and considering my options. One of which is putting together a class action lawsuit if a lot of other people have lost the thousands of hours they put into their website.

Sorry you lost your info but none of the hosting companies I am aware of guarantee backups to be available unless you pay for them to provide this service. However within your cpanel user interface there is a option to generate a local backup of each site that you can download to your local data archive. All I know to tell you is you get what you pay for and at $1 per month it appears you got exactly what you payed for. Also next time take care of your own data and you will have current backups to reupload since your too cheap to pay for hosting that provides for your backup needs.
