AccessoriesLand Ripoff! Bait and Switch - If You Buy No Add-Ons They Don't Sell Camera. NewYork, Brooklyn New York
I saw the website for Accessorieland had the best price for an Olympus 410 camera. I called about shipping and if the camera was new or remanufactured. The clerk said new in the box with all factory included accessories.
I then went to the website and placed the order - $189 + $11.34 shipping. So far, so good.
Howevr, in about 5 minutes, a salesman called me to confirm the order and started into a pitch to buy extra batteries etc. Since I had a previous model of the camera I said I didn't need any extras. He then went into the benefits of a five year warranty which he would sell for only $59.95. I said that's a good deal, but no, I didn't want that either.
At that point he said the camera only came with the 5 year warranty. I said that's a bait and switch scheme and not I did not want it. He acused me of having an 'attitude' and that the order was cancelled.
Since my original order was just the camera and they could not (would not)suppy it with out the 5 year plan, I belive that the product was not available as advertised.
They have my credit card info and I'm concerned about either taking out their 'cancelation fee' or other use.
