Advanced Wellness Research Inc. Scamming Liars!!! Nampa Idaho
I clicked on an advertisement for the Acai Berry trial. The ad claimed that you would only be charged $4.99 for the shipping and handling. After you enter your credit card information, it plainly states that you will only be charged the $4.99. There were no terms or conditions listed. I did think that was odd because normally on free trial things, the catch is that you have to cancel within so many days to avoid further charges. However, I went ahead and submitted my information to get my free trial.
I placed the order on January 19, 2009. However, the shipping charges were not charged to my bank account until 1/22/09. I did not receive my trial until a couple days after that.
Then, on February 4, 2009, I'm looking at my bank account and see where this company has charged me $78.81. Oh, and by the way, the packing slip that came with the pills did not indicate a total dollar amount charged or anything about calling to cancel if you want to avoid further charges. It only listed my personal info, an order#, description of the product, and their customer service number.
I immediately called them after seeing my bank account. The first person I spoke with told me that he could not refund the whole amount, only $60. I said no, he then came back and offered $70. I said no, I wanted the full amount and I asked to speak with a supervisor. The supervisor and I argued for awhile. He claimed that their ad did list terms and conditions which stated that you must call and cancel within 14 days. That is a total lie!!!
I then demanded to speak with someone above him, but he repeatedly refused saying that the managers would not take phone calls. He kept trying to get me to compromise on taking $30 back. I finally negotiated on $60 as I was tired and fed up. I did tell them that I was going to report them to the Better Business Bureau and my local Attorney General office, and do fully intend on doing so.
