Allen, Lewis & Associates Do not deal with these people if at all possible. Jacksonville Florida
If anyone has dealt with Allen, Lewis & Associates (in particular "Bill Doresey"), I strongly suggest seeking legal advice on how to settle your debt without having to deal with these people at all. Today I recieved a call from "Bill Doresey." He told me that if I did not make a $60 payment through western union by 5 o' clock I would possibly be facing an "attempting to defraud a federal institution" charge....whatever that is. He also called my girlfriend at her work whom he thought was my spouse (how he got her number I have no idea).
Out of fear I paid the $60 by the deadline. Now what "Bill Doresey" told me was that I was to call him as soon as I made the payment. For over an hour I tried to contact him and got no awnser....not even a voice mail. In fact, the only thing I got was a voice recording from my cellular service saying that the number had either been changed, disconnected or is out of service.
I even tried dialing 411 to do a reverse tracking of the number I recieved from "Bill Doresey" and they told me the number is not listed.
For the record, I have an outstanding account with a music store of $500.00 which was transfered over to Allen, Lewis & Associates for collection. However, they now want $3000.00.
I originally recieved a call from them last year with a message saying "regarding stolen property." The lady that I spoke to the next day said that if I didn't come up with $900.00 within a short period of time I would be looking at possible Grand theft and possesion of stolen property charges.
They have been taking $164.00 out of my account every month for at least 6 months now, which was agreed upon. However after reading numerous complaints about this company and inparticular "Bill Doresey" (if that's even his real name) I am now going to seek the advice of an attorney.
I fail to see how a $500.00 debt turned into a $3000.00 debt.
