Amazon.com Allowing fraudulent sellers to scam long time customers Seattle Washington
Tonight I was shopping on Amazon.com as I usually do for Christmas Gifts. I found a watch for a friend, and under the image Amazon displays additional vendors in their marketplace where the item is available possibly for less. Of course I clicked on the lowest price plus shipping, and followed that link to the merchant's website to verify the purchase, which in turn returned me to Amazon for the payment. During the checkout at TRISTEZAS.COM (the Amazon recommended merchant) the small type said on my statement, it would say PS2 Gift Card so they don't have to charge tax.
I received 2 emails, one from Tristezas.com verifying the watch purchase, and another from Amazon.com verifying the Gift Card purchase. This seemed very unusual, so I called Amazon.
To make a long story short, after 2 customer service people and 2 management, they said they know about this problem on their site and are trying to remedy it but CANNOT return my money. I'd have to contact my state attorney general. It was a gift card and that is their policy.
My comments to them were not taken seriously it seemed. This is November 30. They will have many people taken by this merchant and will not be able to do anything about it. AND they aren't warning anyone coming on to their site to be aware of this tristezas.com ripoff.
I've been an Amazon.com shopper for over 15 years and they couldn't even credit me or give me a discount towards the item on their site.
Shame on Amazon.com for leading customers to these additional merchants that they don't even check out prior to putting them on their site AND they are collecting money for them!!

I had the same experience with Tristezas.com. This is a BIG scam. Do not buy from these people! I bought a watch, and was given a playstation gift card code. They ask for the code in order to send the item you bought. I have not given them the code, and do not intend to. When I contacted someone from Tristezas.com, they said in order to get a refund I must give them the playstation code. Which I am not going to do that either! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. I also thought I was safe making the purchase through Amazon.com. But no, Amazon will not refund a buyer their money from these scam artists!
