Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I paid for movie, not seeing the few small 8.5x11 inch paper signs with print too small for me to read since i did not have my reading glasses. 5 minutes into the movie i noticed how hot it was.  Set my phone to temperature detection and read 82F. I asked the manager to correct the situation and he just pointed to the small sign, did not even offer a refund. The sign says "We are currently experiencing above normal temperatures within the auditoriums, and are working as quickly as possible to find a resolution"  Yet, there were no AC trucks or personnell anywhere on site, in the nearby lot, or anywhere nearby at all. Obviously they wanted people to pay the full price for a steamy hot theatre and not pay extra for AC Sunday repairs, which all the major HVAC firms offer.  It was 90F outside and i've already been dealing with, and just getting over, heat exhaustion all week. I told the manager this and he had nothing to say. I left the movie early, wobbled out to my car having to stop several times, and finally drove home with my AC on. I will be taking this up further with AMC Theatres and possibly my attorney.

First off I did not see anywhere in this report where you specifically asked for a refund and they specifically refused.  You said one was never offered, but you never stated that they refused.  That is two different things. Now, if you had been in the movie for 5 minutes and then went to the manger to complain.  IF you asked for a refund and they refused, I would actually agree with you in that it would be bad customer service, and would think that you should get your money back.  But if you never asked and just left, or worse it appears you went back to watch more of the movie, then it falls more on you than them.

As for them "working" on the problem.  So tell me, what experience do you have in HVAC repair?  How many other service calls were all the "major" companies on?  Was this location the only place the A/C failed in a 200 mile radius?  Please enlighten us with your vast knowlege and experience in this.

Perhaps they did have someone out there looking at the problem but had to get the part ordered?  If it was one of the main units..you know how those get installed..right?  Many times either by a crane and if that is not big enough a good ol heliocopter, and again I don't know what vast experience you have in this area but neither of those are things you an get on moments notice.  Heck, something that major requires GOVERNMENT permits.

Perhaps they did what happened to me recently with our A/C.  In a Non-Emergency situation our A/C failed and we were basically told that the closest appointment we could get was 9 days away.  Oh and sorry, even though I know you are hot.  Even though I know you are sick of the heat.  But A/C failing at a Movie Theater is not a "Life and Death" emergency, and if I found a company actually cancelled a call to my house because a Movie Theater had their A/C busted I would be on here writing against that A/C company.

But then again, all of this is speculation.  Because just like you I have no idea what is up with their A/C or what they did to try and fix it.

As for you talking to an attorney.  Really other than possibly getting your ticket price refunded(which I bet a single "calm" call to them would do the exact same thing) what exactly do you think would come of that?  By your own admission you didn't see the 8 1/2 x 11 signs because you didn't have your reading glasses on.  So it isn't like they didn't try to serve you notice.   Again if this was in 6pt font on a 2 inch piece of paper you may have a point, but my guess is that to most people it was easily noticeable.

So because YOU are old and infirm its ALL thier fault that YOU DIDNT READ!!!! At what point did YOU regress to a CHILD!?! Jeez!!! Ok we get it YOU ARE OLD!!!! that doesnt mean that EVERYTHING is a personal attack against YOU!! You go right ahead and get ahold of your lawyer. THEY had signs posted so THEY are in the clear. Perhaps both LOSING and PAYING the opposing counsels fees will teach YOU to be a better observer of your enviroment. So because YOU didnt see a work truck there THEY must be MAGICALLY the villian. Thankfully YOUR DEFAMATION is actionable.

Im seriously contemplating contacting THEM and pointing THEM to YOUR defamation. Your age does NOT give you a pass to trample THIER rights. And THAT IS WHAT YOU HAVE DONE!!!!! What YOU have done is WRONG!!!!! Things break, your mind is evidence of that. It STILL doesnt give YOU the right to bash THEM!!!In this case the customer is a sleazeball who couldnt be bothered to READ!!!

Then once the signs are pointed out to YOU, YOU fall back on the "I forgot my reading glasses" excuse. Doesnt that mean YOU shouldnt even be DRIVING as YOU cannot see and are a DANGER to EVERYONE ELSE ON THE ROAD?? Personally I find your post to truly be sickening and ONLY goes to show the state of an elderly persons mind. Typical slackjawed moronic thought process. We can REALLY see where the American citizens get the self entitlment that they use to justify thier own useless baseless existance. The "Greatest Generation" has failed us yet again.
