I will open to say I'm sorry for what happened to you.
That said, reading your deal and having dealings with AMS off and on for over a decade (as well as being here for my own complaint) my feeling is you hesitated in hopes of gaining a free keyboard and it bit you in the a*s. I'm no fan of Fifth Third Bank and feel they are fun by thugs but you had to know if this error cane up you'd be paying for the keyboard and, as it seems you are on a budget, putting your livlihood in jeapordy. You played a game and lost.
I've never had an issue with AMS following their 45 day return policy as well as paying for th return shipping. You order a $15 baseball cap and end up with a $900+ keyboard bonus and we all know and have heard how these things slip through the cracks with big companies. In your case, had you called I would think it in their best interest to thank you and jump at the chance to get their property back?
When I order I get a confirmation email of what I ordered as well as a confirmation email of what shipped every time. I find your story a little shaky. Even the timeframe between when you received the keyboard and your bank notified you of an overdraft....why not simply return the keyboard even at your own cost at that point? Better than all the fees and losing your home.
I'm sure you think I'm a jerk but just being honest. I doubt I didn't state what many who've dealt with AMS already thought just decided to shake their head and move on.
And if I'm wrong and it did happen as you said I am sorry for what you went through. But 30 days hadn't passed and AMS has had a 45 day return policy for as long as I recall so what you claim doesn't track.

The ripoffs at American Musical Supply are not very pleasant to deal with. If you can tolerate long wait times (40 min to 1hr.) you may manage to get through to one of their young snooty staff members. Don't expect any kindness or customer service. They will immediately categorize you as a "bad customer" and treat you like a criminal once you begin to address any issue you've had with a purhase. They will defame you with your bank. They simply do not honor their return policys especially on defective items. They will ask you to shut up and hang up on you. At least this was my experience.
The buying experience for musicians buying musical instruments to create music should be a pleasant one. American Music Supply should NOT be selling musical instruments!

Really sorry to hear that happened to you! I hope all is well by now, I just cruised by here to check on the company because I am about to place a very large order; I have been ordering gear from AMS for about 5 years or so and never had a problem. Hopefully they resolved your problem and refunded your OD fees (and apologized to your financial institution! :-O). As a matter of fact any time I place an order they call me and ask if everything was okay with it...really friendly company as far as I have seen. Can you post to here and let us all know if the issue was resolved, and if so how? That would be beneficial! Thanks! TJ
