Andrew (Andy) Lynn is a person who has continuously had to move to stay one step ahead of the people he has "worked" for. It's not the economy that made him homeless, it's his work record. In fact, his brother is in the same business in Venice, FL and is excellent.

Andy has some serious "issues" that you should be aware of. People are "beneath" his "artistry." So is, cleaning up his construction mess, paying his suppliers, and completing his work. As a result, people end up with an incomplete job, a trashed house, and him doing whatever he wants. A wire in the way? No problem; he'll cut it and drop the wire into the wall - who cares if your sockets don't work, right? Same thing with plumbing, tile, and preparation work.

He bites off way more than he can chew, tries to make it look "professional" but leaves when the work is 60-70% done after trashing the premises and slowing down to below a crawl. After a few photos of how "great" his work is, he's trying to score another job before you fire him. He says he's been in the business for over 10 years but can't show more than a few days' worth of references or his "scrapbook."

Demand several years worth of references - not just recent jobs that are hoping that he'll finish what he isn't doing. Demand that he shows you a CONTRACTOR's license and permits for any sheet rock, electrical, plumbing, framing, or any other work as well as PROOF OF LIABILITY INSURANCE.

Having spoken with dozens of ticked-off former clients, their belief is that he has "serious" mental issues including narcissistic personality disorder, passive aggressiveness (hidden things are found vandalized by him months after he leaves), and is allegedly abusing crack or speed. There are some sort of allegations of some former alcohol-related police problems as well. You should check these issues with references as well - not just with recent or current clients. Shouldn't any contractor be able to show multiple references where the work was completed to the client's satisfaction and has held up over time?

It's no wonder that he keeps skipping town to tell new people how "great" he is; no one in his old towns are willing to listen to him anymore.

My reasons are as simple as counting to four.

1) One, Andrew Lynn, despite his many incarnations, is a one person operation. 2) Two is the number of recent years for which he can show no employment history despite not being able to collect unemployment insurance (owned his own business) and having lost his home to Bank of America. 3) Three is the number of companies that Sunbiz.org allegedly shows as being associated with Andrew Lynn (Andrew Lynn Painting, Inc, Andrew Lynn, LLC and Andrew Lynn Decorating & Home Services LLC). The first two are now inactive and not operating. 4) Four is the number of years during which this has happened - a lot of closed businesses and missing work history for one individual.

Before you ask people to trust you and bring you into their homes, please answer the following.

1) Where did you work after closing Andrew Lynn Painting, Inc and before Andrew Lynn, LLC? Please explain this two year gap out of the past four years. 2) You state that you are licensed and insured. What EXACTLY are you licensed to do and what EXACTLY are you insured for? The reason for this question is that the alleged complaints of your work go beyond painting and look more like contracting. If you do work for clients is ALL of it licensed and insured? If you agree to do work outside of what you're licensed for, who ends up paying the bills if it's substandard and needs to be redone? 3) Can you provide references for the past five years including the gap between 2008 and December 20, 2010? 4) Will your references confirm that you did work in areas that you were licensed and insured to perform or will they show that you performed work in unlicensed and uninsured areas?

Finally, you allege that you lived and worked in the Sarasota area for 30 years. Please name 3 reputable commercial paint suppliers that can confirm that you did business with them and that you don't owe money to. Will your own brother, who is a painting contractor, vouch for you, your work, or anything that you say?

If your own family or any of your suppliers won't vouch for you, why should we trust you?

Tell the truth not even pictures of my work. I am fully licensed and insured.I just ask one question why not sign your name. Have a wonderful day. Two sides to every story. Don't believe everything you read. I lived in sarasota county for over thirty years. Moved to ft Lauderdale because of my girlfriend. I wish this individual nothing but the best and happy holidays to their friends and family. This report does not even deserve a rebuttal because not one thing said is based on truth.
