I figure it was time to do my due and become a responsible person and pay off my debt. I now see why people wait the full seven years and let fall off of their report. I called Applied Card Bank to pay off a old credit card. I was prompted to enter my social because I didn't have the account number.

once I entered it I was immedately taken to there collections department. FMC or something like that it was too low and unclear to hear.(guess I should have known)

Spoke to Aaron a female. She was very helpfully at first. the orignal credit had a limit of $350 bucks and they were trying to collect $783 on it. Hell of a intrest on it. I asked if there was a settlement for it. they told me it was at the rate of 65% so it was $509. I proceed to tell her that I know that the card rate was limit 350 and 509 wasn't good enough and if it could be negoiated. I opened the account in 01 people it is 07 ? 1 more year and it will fall off

She didn't like that too much. As a matter of fact she hung up the phone on me. Great customer service huh ? I called back and she asked if I was ready to pay now I said no I would like to speak to a manager. After 10 mins of waiting on thhephone (she was explaining the situation to the next person I was speaking to) I got on the phone with the VP of the dept.

I asked him a few questions about customer service. He said that he never dealt with customers before. hard to believe for a VP but ok. I told him about Aaron and he siad that customers get rowdy sometimes I assured that I was and the treatment was uncalled for.

I spoke to him about the debt he said that $509 was the best that he can do. If he had gone 5% lower I would of sold I not trying to rip them off I just want it to be fair. I asked him if it could be negoiated he said no so I told him that I would rather let it fall off than pay 509 for a credit card I never charged more than 250 bucks on. After that he said I will tell you what I tell most customer when this happens. "Don't call here unless you have $783" and hung up the phone.

great customer service huh ? I can imagine these are the people that are managing our credit. I'm not a flunkie reject I just made a mistake when I was younger about credit. And now I'm pay for verbal abuse included
